Except that Steele was clearly RIGHT in that fight.

    No Comp.
Joe want's to be the star.
He imposses himself way too much in the fight's.
They need to give him his walking paper's or demote him
to WNF's or FNF's only, maybe a Solo Boxeo.

If Cortez would have used better judgment and stop the fight when he pulled them apart before the hit to back of head, Soto would have never been disqualified. So its really Cortez fault for all the confusion.

Cortez panicked didnt know what to do. The fight should have been stopped but it wasnt in the script for Soto to win

Steele's ruling is debatable, Cortez's ruling is completely wrong and just robbed a fighter out of a title.

It's not just the DQ but also him stepping in not once but twice to "stop the fight" and not doing so.

That was just ****ing horrible, what the **** was he thinking

I think he was like, it's like when you know what you should do but everything is going so fast you do the exact opposite, he was ****ing clueless. Awful, awful awful ****ing AWFUL descision. Not only did he unjustly disqualify a fighter but he also let another lay in his own blood for 5 minutes or so.

It reminded me of Walcott's ref job in Ali-Liston I, where a failure to immediately take action screwed the situation up and all the extra time dithering about what to do just made it worse and worse.

In recent fights Cortez won't even let the fighters work on the inside. He was all over Hatton as soon as they get close, Cortez would jump in. Mayweather has the reach & quickness on the outside. Hatton was put at a big disadvantage.

I dunno he didn't seemed to mind letting Hopkins 'work' on the inside , and what Hatton was doing against Castillo apparently wasn't a problem, despite it being the same thing he was doing against Mayweather .

    Cortez is a **** ref who wants to be a celebrity , 'I'm fair but I'm firm'.......no Joe you're just **** .

And...Cortez needs to stay away from the big fights...
    But...
Kenny Bayless needs to be in there for the big fights !!
