If he screws up this heavyweight championship fight like he did the Soto fight, he CAN DEFINITELY kiss his career good bye. Then, again, he needs to have one of these fights to "redeem" himself from the blunder.

So how many people would be PO'd if he was the ref for the Cotto-Margarito fight and who would he tend to "favor" in that fight?

If this affects anything, it will be cortez stopping klitschko prematurely from killing thompson.. I guess for those people who are sick and sadistic, having Cortez as the ref is a bad thing!!!

Thing is, Cortez will probably now overcompensate and won't stop the fight until one of them is practically brain dead.

I doubt he'll have much to do in this fight anyway, which gives him less of an opportunity to screw things up.

He should really get rid of that cheesy catch phrase of his though. He hasn't lived up to it in a long time.

Possibly. :think Cortez is very vulnerable to outside influences. Remember how Hopkins made such a big deal about Cortez being the ref for his fight aagainst Robert Allen that he actually flipped it around and became completely biased in favor of Bernard?

Let's just hope the idiot doesn't screw things up like that again.
