I thought he was fighting off TV tonight in Vegas, but can't seem to find any confirmation. It's not on boxrec anymore.
Oh come on, he's beat Judah and a prime Mayorga, and could well have got the decision against Jermain Taylor. His counter punching masterclass against Mayorga was unbelievable, especially since it looked like he was gonna get knocked out after the one sided first round. If anything he's underachieved, but what do you expect, he is Leon Spinks' son.
i'm not a corey spinks fan, but i must admit he does have decent skills and fast hands for a boxer. i would like to see him to fight sergio mora. i think corey would win handily, but it would be a good fight for both fighters.
welterweight world champion, lighmiddle champion and he should of got the middleweight title fight against taylor, the guy is a brilliant talent
Agree 100% ... the biggest over acheiver probably in the history of boxing. Undisputed welterweight champion 2x IBF light middleweight champion (should've been) Undisputed middleweight champion Its a shame that Taylor got the nod ... and its been said by Pavlik that he would never fight a guy like Spinks unless he had to.
Yes ... Spinks should've got the nod ... he outboxed Taylor and for the fact that Spinks was the smaller guy and labeled with a suspect chin, should've been more reason for Taylor to get the stoppage or KO ... but Spinks took some of Taylor's best shots and showed that he could compete on that level. Spinks boxed very well and deserved the UD IMO.
Are u guys for real? Corey Spinks is lame. The only good thing is when he fought Judah. Him and Nellie did their little rap entrance and made Judah wait 10 minutes for him to get to the ring. Judah was so pissed off, he proceeded to beat the **** out of him. Hilarious
The phillips fight could be argued as a robbery and I actually liked the way that Spinks fought that night. He stood tall and fought hard ... he wasn't aiming to box like he's been labeled. The same goes with the Taylor fight ... I just think he's cursed ... he's a great boxer in a time where people don't appreciate the art.
