    i don't think Spinks was an overachiever. He had an insane amount of skill just lacked the power and as such was reluctant to engage.

    I agree! I watched the free live stream of that and felt so bad for Spinks when Phillips got the nob. They gave Phillips more credit for missing many more wild swings and landing very few punches than they gave Spinks for outboxing the **** out of Verno. I guess his beatdown by Paul Williams in his next fight was karma.

    And yes he definitely deserved to win against a much bigger Taylor who was surprisingly gunshy(but for some reason wasn't as gunshy against the slightly bigger Kassim Ouma)

    Whether you like a guy's style or not, these guys work too hard to be robbed blind.
