I wouldnt go that far. Pavlik would stop Spinks. Cory would beffudle him for the first 3 rounds, then fade badly and eventually get stopped. Spinks isnt nearly as good as Martinez. He's not as fast and athletic, doesnt hit as hard, isnt as strong, has a much lesser chin, and has shitty stamina. And furthermore... Spinks is past his prime.
Not gonna lie, I would take Spinks with ease, he doesn't need to have the speed Martinez has, plus he has better boxing skill. If he was motivated and trained his ass off I think he would make Pavlik look like ****, again.
You musta not have seen his fight with Deandre Lattimore. Spinks struggled in that fight, and is clearly past it. Pavlik would kill him now. A few years ago when Spinks was quicker I think he could cause Pav some problems, but the thing is.... Spinks ALWAYS had shitty stamina. And even a prime Spinks isnt as good as Martinez.
Naw, I didn't see the Lattimore fight, he really looked that shitty? Lethargic and slower than he used to be or altogether? Damn shame, in his prime he had some skill and speed. Looked good in the first Judah fight and beat Karmazin and Mayorga. He should only be like 32-34, wouldn't have thought he woulda got old overnight like that.
Yeah he looked alot slower vs Lattimore then he used to be. His handspeed, footspeed, and reflexes have all declined. He won that fight basically on guts alone, but honestly Deandre Lattimore sucks. I consider Spinks best performance to be the Karmazin fight. But even in THAT fight he faded down the stretch. Karmazin was a good fighter, but obviously not in Pavlik's league. Spinks is like 32 now I believe. Obviously he's not gonna be as quick now as he was when he was 26-27. Add his age to the fact that he's not a dedicated trainer in the gym.... he's pretty much done on the top level. BTW - for the record.... he arguably beat Jermain Taylor.
