usually here in the uk when theres 2 fight cards on 2 different channel we get them for free on sky sports both of them on the same channel one after another, i dont think they've done this in a while though.

Who say its going to be that much??? I have never paid that amount. Not even for Floyd's PPV. But hey! If Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is doing PPV's why not Cotto MAyorga?

you guys need to understand the business of boxing a little more.. this is not a top fight between two great boxers and promoters are not interesed in finding out who the best boxers is neither. They want to make money so they put two big names and promote it big and get their fan base to buy into it and at the end of the day they'll make a payday.

In yesterdays conference Mayorga talked about things he shouldnt know about but i guess it was scripted and he was told before hand. Now the PR public is into the fight and they'll buy it. Is all about making a profit but fans always think is all about other things.

    :hat

HBO wouldn't buy it. Instead of giving Sergio a different date since he didn't even have an opponent at the time they announced this fight, Top Rank had to go another way.

Passing this up could come back to haunt HBO. God forbid Bob takes his business to Showtime.

Yeah, don't pay for this card.

Martinez-Dzinziruk and Lee-McEwan will be for free on HBO. :good

Isn't this the opposite of the usual dynamic? (where HBO puts on a PPV that feeds off the name power in the main event but isn't really worth the money, while Showtime steals audience shares with a solid free card)

Even though Martinez-Dzinziruk is going to be on at the same time, for free?

I know, that one is going to be more tactical and likely much less of a war than Cotto-Mayorga...but it will last longer and be more competitive. :good

I'm a little bit torn to be honest.

Martinez-Dzin is free and a can't miss fight but I'm becoming more and more interested in the Cotto-Mayorga fight as days pass by (I'm a sucker and King/Arum get me every time ).

I'm leaning towards buying the PPV and PVR/DVRing the Martinez fight to watch after while avoiding ESB and my blackberry for the evening.

It will be a very solid night and $50 is a fair price.
