Well, so long as Cotto's prepared to drop that MW strap I guess he can fight who he wants.

GGG is the mando and Miguel has been given a one fight pass - with which the assumption is he's fighting Canelo. If he wins he then has to fight GGG or vacate - if he wants to fight Timmeh then it won't be as MW champ if the WBC do their job.

It would be a little disappointing for GGG to end up fighting for a vacant strap, and TBH I actually doubt Bradley would be that much more lucrative than Golovkin, but that's Miguels perogative. I, for one, would lose some respect for Cotto though: I had hoped that he would at least try to prove himself as a legitimate MW.

It'd be a little sad to see the Hopkins - Trinidad lineage dragged through the mud 'cos Cotto thought it'd be nice for his legacy.

Dont blame Cotto one bit for ducking him. It is v frustrating though

As has been said the only guy who has a good shot at beating him from 154 to 168 is Ward

And Ward - unlike Golovkin - is a spoiling bore who cant draw flies to **** - he literally IS high risk no reward

This, if the trend gets any worse the sport will die while the fan boys cheer on. Its a disgrace.

Cotto should fight Bradley because Bradley is a former P4P #3 fighter.

Is it some new rule in boxing that "advisors" say and do the most ridiculous things, and "advise" the exact opposite of what boxfans want?

    That's fine.

Just vacate the middleweight title if you don't want to face your #1 middleweight contender so actual 160 pounders can have a crack at it.

Fans want competitive fights and legit champs. Advisers want their guy to have the best career financially.

Honestly though I lament some advisers like Haymons pervasive influence, I dont really blame them. The true enablers are the people who write the checks for bad fights. IE: Networks and PPV purchasers.

If the sport were healthy, fighting GGG for MW title - the hardest fight versus the consensus best MW - WOULD be the biggest money fight far and away.

If Bradley-Cotto somehow happened, I would be disgusted but I wouldnt blame Cotto advisers. I would be disappointed in Cotto, sure. But really I'd be mad at HBO. HBO are the ones with a long term interest in the health of the sport, and if someone asks them to put on a fight between a WW and a jMW for MW belt HBO should be the ones telling them to fk off.

The difference is that Tito fought them both back-to-back. If Cotto does that, no-one would have a problem.

Also, Joppy was a legit Middleweight with a world title and only one (questionable) defeat.

If that was directed at me, ducking makes me as sick as it does anyone

But there are exceptions. Cotto is one

Here's a guy whos spent an entire career ducking no one. At this stage in his career i totally get it him not wanting to fight a guy who he has absolutely no chance of beating
