In a private press Conference for, only the PR media, Cotto said, that he was looking forward for big names, and names that will ehance his status as a boxer and as a atracttion. they mentinoed pacquiao and Cotto said
"It do not necessarily have to be Manny Pacquiao There are many names. But if Manny Pacquiao it it, I will not go down in weight to do it, "he replied.

Good. Pacquaio should fight a fair version of Cotto instead of needing him to be drained.

I agree, he shouldn't risk his health. But this statement might be a very smart message by Cotto to Arum and Pacquiao people: he's not gonna agree to just any weight. If Arum/Roach start negotiations at 143, Cotto at 147, they might end up agreeing on 145, which I feel is the lowest Cotto can safely make without risking very serious drain effects.

Cotto should refuse any offer below that.

All that this means is that the fight won't happen. Roach won't let Pac fight a big welterweight unless he is drained.

I don't speak spanish but doesn't this (below) mean he will fight Pac at 145? I pulled it from your link.

"Cotto ha dicho que podrĂa bajar hasta las 145 libras para pelear con Pacquiao."

I don't think Pac-Man will need a catchweight to make Cotto his woman.
