Pacquiao did not fought his best available opposition. That's bs. Campbell was available, Casamayor was available. Marquez even said he'll fight Pacquiao at 135 pounds for a third fight. Even though Juan Diaz lost to Campbell, he'll still be better then David Diaz.

I'm not completely sure, but I think the deal was that Cotto can't weight over a certain amount on fight night. So that could cause problems when he's trying to rehydrate, but idk.

I don't think this is true, otherwise Roach would not have accepted Cotto's proposal at 145. It's part of bargaining process. It's now moot and academic since both parties agreed to it in principle. And as I have said before, not all boxers are created equal, that's why boxing gods created catchweight to level playing field. It's not as if this catchweight thing is new in boxing. One pound is nothing considering that Cotto weight l46 against Clottey who's obviously bigger than Pac.

There is no such thing. No deal agreen upon and signed at this point. Now, you can STFU momentarily.

    It's true.

Why have the fight at 145 and not 147?

there are draw backs for either fighter to fight at 145. Cotto will have to lose weight, which will undermine his power, but Pac will have to gain weight, thus sacrifise his speed. a catch weight is fair for both fighters. one is up one is down. you cant have either way. if pac went up to 147 and loses you know what will be said. If cotto went down to 140, you know will be said. 145 catch weight is the best decision

Floyd is a WW. Pac is not! Cotto rehydrates to 160 lbs plus from 147 but Nard at 160 would only gain 2 or 3 pounds when he was a MW. That don't make Cotto a true MW or Nard a natural WW. You are trying to make excuses for Cotto when he doesn't need one.

Its not true. Roach has never said he wants to drain any fighter. The catch weight is all about making things fair considering these are men who are not in the same weight class or the same physical size. Loosing a pound won't drain a proffesional like Cotto no matter what anyone says. Its just not reality. Its more to keep Cotto from reaching excess weights from Cotto on fight night.

I'm sure a deal will be made at 145. I can't wait to see this fight.

I agree with Eze, cutting 1 lb is a ***** when your straining to make weight. Pac's camp should make this fight at 147 for the title, so there wont be any excuses.

You gotta keep things in perspective....At that Time PAC was already looking to move up....much in the way Cotto was from 140 to 147 3 yrs back and much like Nate Campbell was from 135 to 140 when he lost his belts on the scales against Ali Funeka. Cotto is not struggling the way he was at 140 now at 147. He moved up in weight so he wouldn't have these struggles. When a fighter struggles he doesn't come in to a 147 fight at 146. So I see your angle but in this situation your comparison doesn't apply.:good

Why the double standard and not complain about PBF having to go down to 143? He fights at 147. PBF who has no body fat and is fit year rnd. PBF will have a harder time losing weight then Cotto. All I hear is how much of a warrior JMM is. The PAC and Cotto fight is no different.

I have total respect for all 4 guys as a fighter. If they sign to fight and they aren't making any excuses then I'm ready to shell out my money for their PPV. The bias idol worshipping here has gotten ridiculas.

Cotto isn't struggling to make weight at WW. If he is then he shouldn't be fighting at 147 anymore....he should move up to 154. And anyone who knows the struggles of making weight know you don't come in a pound under if you are indeed "killing" yourself to make weight. Loosing weight is a ***** and a pound can be a ***** but Cotto is a WW and he makes weight without problems...THere are no second trips to the scale for Cotto or extra time in the sauna just to shed one extra pound. I'm sorry but that just ain't the case.
