    Key points:

    1. Cotto makes reference and states that he was drained for the Pac fight. This is the very first time he publicly I have heard/read him say so! Interesting!!!

    2. He sees a fight vs. Martinez could be made if his team and him decide that is the path...it will happen!

Wow, Cotto is taking no prisioners!

    WAR MIGUEL!!! Guerra Cotto!

he said he dosnt want to fight pac at 150, because he already fought Pac before and was drained, which took alot out of him

Just translated those parts of the article. I know it's not a 100% word-for-word translation, but:

He's not saying anything which he hasn't said before. It doesn't appear as though he's saying "I was weight drained against Pac".

It's also worth mentioning that, whilst he's complaining about 150 for Pac, it was still the same 150 he asked Margarito to come down to for their second fight. Not bashing Cotto or anything, as I fully support his reasons for not going down to 150. But let's not act like he's not the same as any other fighter - in that a fighter's stances/feelings on an issue can change dependent on what the circumstances are.

Hes coming off a PPV that did double what Pacs last one did. Pac losing his appeal, hence all the regurgitated opponents

Dude, Google translate does not works for that.

Spanish is my first language. I know what it said. You have to be in context which Google translate does not do that.

He (Cotto) implies on that quote that he was drained.

    Literally translated it states:

"It was the same thing that happend in 2009, they made me drop weight from 147 to 145, and that [weight loss] takes away from you", he stated.

Therefore, implies that he was weight drained.

Cotto's full of **** lately. Last year he becomes the first champ to request to defend his belt at a catchweight, with a pathetic 160lb rehydration clause. Against a one eye bum no less. Then earlier this year he taunts Pac for not offering to fight him at 150:

    (from the scene, substitute below)

When Team Pac offers 150 as requested, Cotto turns tail. Watch him pick the weakest MW titlist and go for the title at 156 CW next.

I know Google translation doesn't work like that. Which is why I said it probably isn't full 100% word-for-word. But it still doesn't stop me from getting the gist of what was said.

Thanks for translating, but it's not anything I didn't get from what Google roughly told me. He's saying he was already made to come down in weight before, and it shifting extra weight can take away from you. I got that the first time. But that's not saying he was weight drained. He doesn't even mention "drain". Yes, I'm being pedantic, but there's huge difference between working a little harder to make weight, and being weight drained to make weight. The latter implies you're in no condition to put up a decent fight. And we all know he came in top condition - he and his coaches even said so at the time.

    Miguel Cotto (145 lbs)
    Manny Pacquiao (144 lbs)

    December 24, 2009

    Percy Crawford:

''Was coming down to 145 tougher than you thought it would be since you hadn't weighed 145 or less since 2006?''

    Miguel Cotto:

''I felt really good at that weight. It wasn't a problem for me''.

"I take nothing away from Manny. We both made a great fight...He is fast and stronger than we thought he would be...He is fast and stronger than we thought he would be,"

    Link:

    http://www.fighthype.com/pages/content6561.html?PHPSESSID=ed099a188245c0a26f73bfaa33ae9581

And then almost 4 years later, Cotto just mentions that he was drained against Pacquiao.

It's called Pride, Cotto is a great fighter but Pacquiao was just too good for Cotto.

There are Interviews and videos of Cotto after the Pacquiao fight that he made 145 pounds with no problem and was fine.

He just said this now? already signed to fight Trout.

Before him signing with Trout, Cotto was planning on MOVING to MW to fight N'Dam. Funny, why isn't or wasn't he willing to do it for Martinez because sure enough Sergio is more known in the U.S than the French who will barely be making his debut on American TV. :-(
