Just a shame the fight didn't happen at 147 and none of this b/s would be getting talked about now in my opinion. Weight wasn't the only reason Cotto got mauled but it can't of helped him in the lead up to the fight knowing he had to drain himself can it? He drained himself for the Clottey fight too, he was well ready for a move to 154 by that time!

Sounds like it doesn't matter whether they made it at 145 or 147, he was gonna be drained either way.

Hey, why do you suppose Cotto chose to drain himself by requesting 150 with 160 rehydration clause when defending his SWW belt against a one eyed bum? He likes being drained?

When you're already cutting weight, having to lose an extra pound can be a major struggle. Not that it was the deciding factor in the fight, but it certainly didn't help.

Qwert.. When you're cutting weight to the point when 1 pound makes a difference... You're just bullshitting the scales, yourself and the fans that you're in the wrong weight class and relying too much on a size advantage over using skill.

Any boxer who bullshits the scales deserves to get his ass kicked by the naturally smaller opponent.

Cotto was destroying Clottey before the cut. You get the fugging grand canyon on your eybrow and follow with the Niagara falls for blood into your eye.

Massive head butt + huge cut + not seeing = Cotto still whooped your asz!

No cut = total Cotto ownership!

Because he knew it would take it out of Margarito more.

This along with comments of Team Pac's trainner Roach being quoted saying that:

The evidence continues to rain on Team Pac.

IF the 2 pounds meant nothing why did they demand it? The drainage was not the main issue, the fact that he was not the same fighter,Roach is on record saying Cotto is not the same fighter at the time, that is why they fought him......

Pac fans want to continue to believe Manny fought fair fights, with no advantages to him.

Cotto is really just a fat kid who took up boxing to lose weight. Penalizing Cotto for not making weight is just a psychological attack on his inner fat kid

Why should a champ need to compromise himself just to possibly handicap (not even sure about this, Marg was an elite weight cutter) a total bum a bit more? If he's not confident of beating a medically unfit non top 20 ranked fighter without a weight stip, what's he doing holding a belt?

Can you think of another champ that requested to defend his belt at a cw? With a rehydration clause?

The fact that the supposed top fighter fights a known cheater in Margarito,"after he was KO" just like Cotto was a disgrace...For a bs belt that he got from a vacated title..
