At 140, before the Margo fight, Hattons relentless pressure would of broke Cotto's spirit and Hatton would of forced a stoppage or a points desision. Cotto would maybe take the first 4-5 rounds but after that he would be confused as to why Hatton was still bombing him with no regard for Cotto's shots.

If that was the case they would have made an offer. Big name & an easy fight according to you.

whatever , hatton is made for him dude. He's smalelr, not a puncher, and he's aggressive , cotto would just eat him up. When you got two aggressive fighters the bigger stronger one is gonna win its that simple.

Cotto was killing himself to make weight then, and it's this reason only that a Cotto-Hatton fight at 140 would be 50-50. Cotto, without doubt, was the superior boxer-fighter, and he would have beaten Hatton if he was comfortable at that weight.

147 is an entirely different story. Cotto would smash his face up big time.

That wasn't always the case, though. Apparently, Cotto didn't experience serious problems with weight until he fought Randall Bailey. Matter of fact, for a while when he was at junior welterweight, Top Rank expected his first championship fight to take place at lightweight. His peak at 140, was probably somewhere around the Sosa fight, and that version of Cotto, I think, beats any version of Hatton.

Cotto wins just a different level from Hatton even at 140

Would have been a good brutal fight in 2005 or 2006. Hatton was vicious up until after the collazo fight. After collazo he wasn't the same and just became a messy wrestler and a hug artist.

In 2006 hatton gives cotto a decent try but defiantly gets beat.

hatton wins. cotto is way overrated. who's he ever bet that is better than tszyu? hatton is a limited fighter but so is cotto. hatton has greater achievements than cotto. has cotto cleaned out a division yet? and people are backing this guy ahead of the guy who cleaned out 140 and was ring champ for 4 years??

I think Cotto can take the UD in this one. To beat Cotto you have to really hurt him and I just don't see Hatton hurting him in the same way as Pacquiao or Margarito did. I see Cotto having the technical skills to edge Hatton over the 12 rounds but Hatton would definately have his moments.

    When Cotto was at 140?

Hatton would have stopped him at that weight. He had problems with torres. He was a bit drained by the last few fights there and also inexperienced.

I think a lot of people dont remember Cotto when he was green at 140.

Yeah if they fought in like 2008 or 2009 at 147 Cotto wins. But back at 140 Hatton would take it.

Hatton....especialy if they allow the rough housing tactics. Cotto at 140 was getting wobbled by wind! Hatton would smother him and make it an ugly fight in his favor and i think he could pull it off.
