    :patsch

Thats a big size difference. It's a real testament to how weak the middleweight division is when a 5'7 Cotto and 5'7 Canelo (Cinnamon is a middleweight as far as i'm concerned) are top middleweights.

Well Oscar and Tito fought at MW, both are small guys for that weight. Now and again top WW's do venture into MW.

Cotto's only fought one MW, who was on his last legs. It's a bit much to claim him as a top MW, more fair to say a JMW who defeated a faded top MW.

Not only is Cotto too small for GGG, the purse Cotto would get for the risk is too small. Also, there's nothing in beating GGG right now. He's neither a future HOF'er, HOF bound, or even close to being HOF material, and a win over GGG wouldn't even be historically significant in Cotto's career.

There's nothing in it other than some fans who want to see Cotto get the sh-t beat of of him by a giant, and see Golovkin become a "star" by beating on smaller men.

Cotto vs Canelo, Lara, Bradley, Mayweather II, Clottey II are the fights that should be made. Golovkin can go up and fight Froch, Kessler, Ward, Kovalev, Hopkins, Stevenson since he called out every one from 154 to 175.

GGG called out everyone from 154 till 168 pounds out. Since he has the same height and a longer reach than Mike Tyson, I could also see him in Heavyweight. But just to make it clear, he didn't called out 175.

True but Oscar and Tito were both HUGE welterweights. Plus either of those two was far better skill and talent wise than either Cotto or Canelo.

I know what you mean but Canelo is bullshiting everyone by fighting at 155 all the ****ing time. He may not have beaten any top middleweights but he is a middleweight and if he was considered at his proper division, then i think hes one of the top guys.

I agree but he beat the lineal champion but this whole situation kinda got messed up cus Martinez fcuked up. Now GGG needs to beat Cotto to become Lineal, yet the size difference makes it almost a joke.

Also sorta agree but Cotto shouldn't have moved up for middleweight and beat the lineal champ and now ask GGG to move up

He's gotta face the consequences of his actions, if you want to be middleweight champ, well then beat the monster of your weight division.

If it were the days of same day weigh ins, Cotto would actually be a super middleweight.

I was backing Cotto to beat Martinez, but I sure as hell don't believe he stands a chance against a monster like Golovkin. The way I see it is they should let Cotto play around in the division and make Golovkin the consensus lineal titlist.

"Anyone" would include Andre Ward. GGG doesn't want any of that.
