Also, Pavlik was fighting someone who earned the chance to contend for his WBC strap. Did we all forget that on the undercard of Pavlik/Hopkins than Rubio beat Enrique Orenlas in a WBC title eliminator bout? I'd hope not... because they were making that point abundantly clear during Pavlik's fight with Hopkins that a loss wouldn't put his belt in jeopardy - allowing Rubio a legit chance to fight for his WBC middleweight bout. The same can't be said for Cotto. Cotto was not intending on fighting Jennings prior to his bout with Margarito. Conversely, Pavlik was more than likely going to defend his WBC against a legit threat who earned his chance by winning the eliminator.
Some people just won't be impressed until the opponent gets KOd in the 1st round. They're expecting Jimmy Thunder v Grimsley.
Duddy beat Pavlik??? Your freakin dreaming... You don't understand the business of boxing. Just cause there is a huge fight to be made doesn't mean they do it immediately. They'll get around to it. They just want to have a few money makers 1st & then they'll set up the big one. Prob in Decemeber. So just be patient. You'll get to see your Abraham get demolished sooner or later.
I only read the part you posted. I'm out of town for a couple days starting right now. Defend the Pavlik Nation, and I'll see ya Thursday.
lmfao...hes not top 15 in the division i can tell you that...if he ain't a bum cotto made him look like a bum
Jennings is a bum ... Rubio is a bum ... There's a reason why those guys weren't on the championship level -- I know its not the fault of the fighters but you would think those guys, being on the level they were on to have stiffer competetors in the first fights coming off a loss ... They weren't tested at all and I didn't see anything different out of either fighter. Why didn't Cotto challenge one of the other titlist for a strap? Why didn't Pavlik, who is the middleweight champion, face a former titlist? ... It wouldve been nice to see him fight someone who was well known. They (TopRank) had a lot of nerve putting that fight on PPV --
Basically, you're supporting what I've been saying for a while. Any decent fighter can look great against a bum, Sat nite proved that to us.
