He called Cotto out but didn't say he'd fight at 154 or 155. That 154 was for Floyd.

that shows you what is wrong with the term "lineal champion". how the hell can you be considered the man at 160 when you have never fought anyone at a full 160lbs?

indeed, Cotto doesn't deserve the 'lineal champion' status of the mw division if he doesn't defend or unify his mw title @ 160 lbs weight ! He can fight whoever he wants from the mw division but he should do it at 160 lbs , not c/w !:good

Yes because then he won't be a fraud. You can't be the "lineal" middleweight champ and ask a guy to fight you at 155, it's a total ***** move. Ggg said he'd fight 154 to 68, meaning he'd go fight a jmw at 154, not the current "lineal" middleweight champ at 155.

most probably. Floyd and Canelo are his main options to defend his mw title @ 155 lbs.

    :good:deal:deal

Some people are ******ed and annoying !

GGG said he's willing to fight Floyd, Canelo or Cotto @ 154 lbs cos this is their weight class and they are PPV fighters. As well for Chavez Jr @ 168.

But now its a different story cos Cotto is the 'lineal' mw champ !

    Cotto has the leverage.

Since dealing with Pac and Floyd, he seems to have learned about how to use it.

All the people who defended Pac and Floyd cant really say a gotdamn thing about this.

Let me explain it slowly since you are having a hard time grasping it...

GGG is a MIDDLEWEIGHT title holder. Cotto is a MIDDLEWEIGHT title holder. The weight limit for middleweight is 160lbs. not 159, not 155. its 160.
If Cotto was a juniormiddleweight champion and Golovkin was calling him out, nobody would have a problem with a catch weight.

Also, neither Ward or Froch are middleweight title holders or even ranked at 160. Go ahead, look it up if you dont believe me. If anybody, I mean anybody in the WORLD was qualified, a decent draw, and was willing to fight at 160, do you honestly believe GGG wouldnt fight them?

Look at it this way...who wins between Froch or GGG if Carl sucks himself down to 160? GGG or Ward? Wanna see Floyd come up to 160 and fight GGG? You haters are constantly trying to put GGG at a disadvantage in the hopes he will lose, but go ahead and admit it, you will feel better...

Gennady Golovkin is the best middleweight in the world, and would be favored to beat anybody in the world in that division. Thats the way it is. You know it, I know it, everybody knows it. Deal with it :hi: :deal

I can't believe people are defending a middle weight champion asking for a catch weight. I don't care if he's a small middle weight. Fact is, he's fighting at middle weight. If Andrade wanted to fight at 54 I'd have no issue, how people can't see the difference is baffling.

This would be like candle-floyd. Two champions fighting at a catch weight. Good if they both agree and not forcing another to get handicapped.

The impossible thing about catch weight to figure out is who is it helping or hurting more? And then after a catch weight it is said that it either didn't matter at all, or it was all the difference in the world. There is nothing but pure pandemonium and confusion regarding catch weights and where to give the credit too so that's why I wish they didn't exist but they do, and as long as they do fighter's will continue to use them.

That's the fact of all this, something exists that a person believes will help them, and they have the opportunity to use it, then there is a big chance that person will use it. That is a natural human thing to do, but the problem is not the person, it's the fact that the helpful/advantageous opportunity exists when it shouldn't.
