With Steward help, Cotto will finally learn how to clinch.

Lennox Lewis, Wladimir Klitschko for starters... Dont you think tieing up and movement are forms of defense? Cotto knows how to slip and block punches.

Lewis and Klitschko are good defensively because they know how to tie up inside? It is a defensive move, you are right about that, but to me it doesnt make you good defensively.

I dont see the movement you are talking about. Neither in footwork or upper body, or head, that Lewis or Klitschko are good at.

steward even has higher praises for pac. almost overboard, and i'm a huge pac fan. said he was a born fighter and only other person that's like him is duran, and he's better than duran because pac's rhythm and timing is better.i wish i could find quote so people know im not talking out of my ass. i think it was on this site a few days ago in an interview.

Lewis and Klitschko became better balanced fighters who were better at establishing range and balance, especially while and after delivering their punches.
Watch some of Lewis early fights, even the ones he won, against Bruno and Ruddock. He loaded up with big righthands and often time stumbled all over the ring because he wasnt throwing his punches with the correct balance. Wlad on the other hand has learned to establish distance after throwing his punches, so he doesnt wind up in his opponents punching zone or in a position on the inside where he clearly has trouble.
Its all apart of hitting and not getting hit. Cotto could use some tightening up in these areas.

    Steward's fighters can't fight on the inside:deal

Cotto needs somebody that will help him fight in close.

Steward I believe is getting close to 70, he can't be be longterm with anyone, including life, I would like to just see him ride off into the sunsight, especially when it comes to announcing, Manny Steward what a loser, go lick hearns balls some more EM!

Since Puerto Rico is such a great boxing country there should be plenty trainers to help Cotto get better.

    Why go to Richardson?????????
