I'm a huge Cotto fan but i think 154 would be a bad weight for him

Yeah its hard to imagine that he'd thrive at that weight, seein as how he had trouble dealing with Margarito's size. Someone like Kirkland would be too much for him.

His style would not be a good fit for him at that weight, it would be different if he started career at 147 he may be able to take his power with him but you can see at 147 he's not the same fighter he was at 140.

As it stands now, Cotto is meant for 147 for at least another year or 2.

    Exactly.

I think right now, he would beat Verno and Spinks.

Williams, Santos and Vernon all beat him.

in my opinion Cotto should have never went up to Welterweight.. same as Ricky Hatton. They should have both stayed at Light Welterweight.. abused everybody in the 10 stone divison.. then had a massive unification fight! that would have been the bomb!

Unfortunately he is too short for 154. Unless he comes back and beats Margo convincingly I don't think that he could do well at 154 against bigger fighters...

Tito4Eva, remember that Tito started his career at 140, so we can't just out ruled the posibility of Cotto doing good at 154 because he started at 140.

Cotto relies a lot on his power to get respect. Guys at 154 are suprisingly bigger
