I've seen people say Toney is an ATG if that's the case a win over Mayweather should get Cotto an ATG spot.

Yes, given he is a 3 weight world champion, twice at welterweight and taking the beatings he has and come back, a win over floyd would solidify his ranking as an ATG

 

An atg don't lose to one dimensional punching bags like margo, plaster or no plaster.

 

Even with a Mayweather win, Toney's resume would be superior. And if we're going by actual ability, Toney's is clearly a level or two above. Cotto is a good fighter who is solid in several areas and mediocre in others...that's the extent of it. That said, if you want to call Cotto an ATG accomplishment-wise if he beats Mayweather, fine by me. That would deserve major props.
