cotto atg if he beats mayweather?

Boxing works in misterious ways. If Floyd beats Cotto he will most likely pass Manny in the P4P rankings. If Cotto defeats Floyd he will only perhaps be rank top 5 P4P. Cotto is already one of the best fighters in his time in his division. His only two defeats have been question by some fans and even by Floyd

 

No,but it would be hard for his haters to say he is not worthy of the Hall..

 

Cotto will be HOF eventually even if he loses to Floyd. As said previously both of his loses are being question by the non bias fans and also a lost to Floyd is no shame. He was one of the best fighters in his divisions in his time and was able to hold titles in three weight divisions with no demands.

 

Agreed, he is clearly in the HOF. I have a sharp distinction between being an ATG and in the Hall of Fame. Scottie Pippen is in the Hall. Jordan is an ATG.

Cotto ranks above other HOF fighters of his era, IMO, but a win over Mayweather is the only way to put him in the ATG discussion.

Cotto is my favorite active fighter, but as I said before I have high standards for ATG talk.
