I still think that Pavlik really materialised 150% of his potential against Miranda and Taylor with 7th round KOs... Cotto deserves this and I am not about to describe what he went through again and again. No doubts Floyd would have that recognition had he taken OLD man Shane and have done that job on him... Guess that Mayweather proved to be business wise and the highly skilled boxer we knew he was and Cotto proved to have character and balls to face the guys he was supposed to lose to...

Look at where Cotto got awarded fighter of the year.

Pavlik or Mayweather deserve it. I don't care who.

I agree that Shane does not have the skills to run after shadows and chase an extremelly mobile target. He couldn't get Cotto so it's fair to say he wouldn't catch Mayweather.

I simply say that facing Shane Mosley right now would be riskier than taking on natural 140 pounder Hatton in Vegas. Shane is older, Floyd is richer and Miguel is more respected... There is always 2008!

I simply say a win over Hatton right now is better then a win over Shane. Shane is OLD.

Backtrack 2 years or so and Shane is a better win.

quick qustion and be honest do you think pbf would have win a easier fight with Shane .then hatton??

He wouldn't knock him out, but he'd easily outbox Shane right now. Shane is too slow at his age. 117-111 would be the final scorecard. Give or take a round per other card.

Cotto did have a good year but not Fighter of the Year type.

Shane was old. Sorry - He was.

Hatton weighed 154 against Floyd fight night. Thats what he weighs as a jr welterweight on fight nights. And Floyd was 148. You could describe their fight as it would of taken place at 140.

At 147, Mosley was STILL better than Hatton at that weight. Look at the fights between Collazo and Mosley/Hatton. Mosley performed much better and would stop Hatton at 147.

They are two completely different types of fighters. + Hatton weighed almost 160 against Collazo rather then the 154 he normally weighs.

He weighed that against Floyd. Basically a jr Welterweight fight took place for the WW titles.

    Eh..

Hatton was a "tougher" fight for Floyd but Floyd easily outboxes him.

Probably gets hit less then he did against Hatton.

Frankly, although I like Cotto and I don't much like Mayweather, Mayweather deserves this. Cotto beat a Judah who was already a Mayweather left-over and on a losing streak, and an aging Mosley. Mayweather beat De La Hoya, who, while aging, was still coming off an excellent performance against Mayorga and was not as old as Mosley, and Hatton, who was a 43-0 champion and a tougher proposition than a Judah on the downhill slope, and Mayweather was more dominant against his opposition than Cotto was.

    For Floyd?

It would be Hatton. At this time its Hatton, the way he fights is rougher for Floyd.

Shane is a boxer and would get outboxed easily by Floyd right now.
