I personally had Cotto winning the fight clearly, and I've forgiven boxers for more negative finishes. While Pavlik clearly won, I think he didn't clearly show he was the better boxer. Only a rematch can prove that he's the better man than Taylor, and even THAT wouldn't be worth one victory over Mosley.

Surely that should be "newcomer" of the year rather than Fighter of the Year, then? Isn't the fighter of the year, the fighter who has the most impressive year?

He stole the show in that he had two of the most memorable fights of the year, just not the most praiseworthy year overall. Cotto, on the other hand, had two relatively dry wins that were hugely impressive considering the challenges he was up against.

And you think a Judah win for Cotto was better then a win over DLH.

I simply don't get it eze, Floyd said that he's not going to fight in the next two years and boxing will not retire him and Cotto is supposed to be ducking the Welterweight Champion of the world?

Let's stop here for a full minute... Floyd made 2 million buys with Hoya and more than one million with Hatton with the same hype formula - playing the villan, the jackass that legions of Hoya supporters and brits wanted to see KTFO ( not me cause I know he's selling the fight and don't dislike anyone b'sides Vic) - Floyd has to play the same game against Cotto and go to MSG to make it another blockbuster... He never made big PPV numbers against Baldo and not definitely as much as 1 million buys against Zab, so what's he gonna do now? This is the problem here - Floyd is a tremendous skillful boxer and I want to see him just like you do, but he's just gonna make BIG MONEY if he pleases the public that wants to see him behavin like that, his family story and stupid s*** like that, you know - Angelina Jolie, Brad, Kid Rock, Gwen Stefani, Bruce Willis, J Lo, Marc Anthony showing up, people that don't have nothing to do with boxing ... He must be tired of that cause it catches up with you, you run out of wind acting like someone that doesn't have anything to do with you.

What is Cotto supposed to do? Knockout Oscar in 4 rounds and tell Max or Larry that that was more entertaining than Floyd's fights? Racial insults a la B-Hop? Nobody would buy those lines anymore...

Before the Mayweather-Hatton fight, Arum said that he had plans for Cotto's next fight: Oscar or Clottey in May and Margarito in July. This was before Mayweather said he was going to retire, which is the same thing he did after the Oscar fight (we should all know that it's only a lie to earn more money in his next fight).

Arum put Kelly against Miranda and Taylor and Cotto against Shane so I suppose that if there was an offer to fight Mayweather, he would forget about everything and go there... There is simply no indication that Cotto wouldn't risk himself once again... But I am not arguing with Asterion right here for Christ sake, I'm not that stupid and want to continue here in ESB for awhile longer. Thnx so much, Asterion, for letting me now that Cotto-Margarito is gonna happen.

A win over and older Mosley (36) and Zab Jubah who has already been beaten by Zoo, Spinks, Baldimir, and Mayweather? Zabs most recent legitimate win was 2 years ago against Cory Spinks and now suddenly beating Zab is a great deed? Thats moronic logic...

And Kelly Pavliks wins over Zertuche and Miranda were WAY WAY WAY better and more exciting than mayweathers snooze fest over DLH

And Kelly Pavliks KO of Jermain taylor was WAY WAY WAY better and more exciting than Mayweather's KO of hatton although I enjoyed that too.

I think kelly should have won it.
