Can't happen. Williams-Quintana goes Feb. 2. (Cotto's already defeated Quintana, btw.) That, alone, puts the kibosh on an April date. Cotto wants to fight in March, which also puts the kibosh on an April date. So, the earliest a possible Cotto-Williams date would come off is sometime in the summer. Given that you'd want at least three-four months for a training camp/publicity tour for Mayweather/winner of Cotto-Williams, that means the fight wouldn't happen for at least a year. As it stands, Cotto's done enough already to make him a legitimate contender. You know...defeating four top-10 contenders within a twelve month period and all. And, I know you're not going to claim that Cotto isn't in the Top 10 at 147lbs...are you? Even if you think Floyd wins the fight easily, it's still a damned good scalp to have on one's resume. So, why not make the fight?
