This is the level of fight Cotto should take. And at this stage of his career, neither will be a cake walk.

Cotto vs. Canelo seems to be a fight that is going to try to get made no matter what.

I love being a Cotto fan. But I'm really wishing he wins a strap then walks off into the sunset.

Longshot guess: Quillin. Golden Boy has absolutely nothing going in the division for Quillin and Cotto has expressed a desire to go after a middleweight belt.

 

Millions of reasons to fight a recognizable name on PPV. If Cotto gets a strap and says he's renewed (possibly under Freddie Roach), the fight will be a big seller.

I was actually hoping for this. The winner would be a good comeback opponent for Miguel Cotto, who has lost his last two fights. It would give him more credibility as a challenger for Canelo or whoever the junior middleweight champion is by that time. If Floyd and Canelo do fight in September, as much as I would root for Canelo, I would pick Mayweather by decision.
