martinez would have been ko already if he had faced canelo for his last fight... he is ripe for the picking, but cotto is too small to reach that fruit.
I really don't know what the set-up is for Cotto vs Martinez, but they are going to make a ton of money. I don't think Cotto can beat Canelo. Canelo is to strong, speed, power, and so young. If Cotto beats Martinez and it could happen due to Martinez inactivity and injures, then he will get a very hig payday fighting a losing battle with Canelo. So what if Canelo lost to Mayweather. Mayweather is just that good. What is it going to take, Canelo beating the snot out of Lara. Listen, don't be surprised if Mayweather beats Canelo to the winner of Cotto ve Martinez for his six division title. Because I remember so many saying Mayweather is afraid of Martinez.
I might be wrong. But I think Cotto have better chances of beating Canelo than Martinez. Cotto is a better boxer that Martinez. That said, I am having serious doubts about Cotto beating Martinez. Boxing skills are only part of the game. Cotto has never look good against those bigger guys. Roach tried to convinced him to go back to 147lbs but he didn't listen.
