its reality... sorry kid you and I know this, you can dog on Floyds resume all you want but the reality is Floyd beats Margarito all day long you and I both know this....

 

in the same way we should refrain from the futile comparisons that be and if mayweather was a god at 130 or not.

 

If Hernandez,Corrales, primeManfredy,Castillio were all JWs or Welters back when Cotto was champ... Cotto would pick up a loss or 2 especially in his days at JW where he was less experienced.. Hell Ricardo Torres almost took him out, Paulie ,Ndou fought him tough,Corley put a scare into him.... And id rate Jesus Chavez, Goyo Vargas,Famoso Hernandez as better fighters than those guys(pfp)...

In fact id rate Castillio slightly higher than Cotto pfp or at least on par.. Hernandez and Corrales are on Cottos level too... Manfredy no way but he was dangerous and good fighter at the time.

 

The Oscar De La Hoya that Floyd beat, KO's Cotto within 8 rounds. Hatton gives him hell at 140. THis is the same Cotto that dropped 4 rounds to Malignaggi, nearly was Ko'd by Torres and Clottey and ran from Ndou.

 

Mosley with Nazim Richardson as his trainer beats Cotto aswell.

 

But that wasnt the same Ndou that Floyd fought keep that in mind.... and I didnt have Cotto lossing four rounds to Paulie I had a near sweep in that fight for Cotto.
But I do agree that the Oscar that Floyd fought beats MC, he also beats Pac.

 

I like Cotto, but this a perfect example of him being a little overrated.. I would bet the Ranch on Oscar in that fight. Different class, ODLH was past his prime,but not as far gone as lot of people say.. I always thought that, Oscar would have been all wrong for Cotto.

Would you rate Cotto higher than Castillio pfp? I think in hth pfp matchup a prime Corrales would have finished what Torres almost did.

 

Is this a what if thread? Cotto loses to PBF at all weight classes. And no, Cotto does not beat a Oscar who fought PBF at 154. Oscar was no Yuri Foreman at 154. We still don't know what Cotto can do at 154 never mind beating someone like Oscar back then.

Cotto...most overrated fighter of this generation.

 

Agreed that is why i cant put Cotto anywhere near my top 10 pfp list,like many others do.. I give him props at Welter and might squeeze him in there..But i cant rank him, when im pretty confident that PW would whup him, and maybe Angulo too,i was picking Margo again too if they had fought this summer.. Think about it, he only talks about fighting Chavez Jr, and has only beaten overrated lucky Yuri Foreman(who was lucky to fight an out of shape shot Santos), and dangerous but past it Mayorga.. Hes on his way out and Arum knows it, thats why hes taking the low risk bouts,with most money possible... If he dont fight Chavez, whats next Mosley rematch?
