I wont say that I cant say that, my boxing blood will not allow me to say that, when a fighter steps in that ring and wins world titles that is not an act of an overrated fighter.
Cotto has 3 losses on that record, 2 by the best fighters today in the sport, the other by a fighter who may have had loaded wraps. other than that who has beaten him?
and lets also keep this **** even realer, Cotto fought a kid Named Carlos Quintanna that kid was busted up and beaten to a pulp by cotto only to later come out and beat Williams, of which Williams does hold a win over Martinez who is now the current Middleweight champ.
I aint going to sit here and say that Cotto is over rated, no way and I can not find any reason to allow any other poster to say that, Cotto is a world champion and winning titles is not an easy task nor is it a task for an over rated fighter to acheive, okay perhaps an over rated fighter can win one, but how many titles had Cotto won?

Get out of here with this ****. People love to discredit Floyd and Manny. Pertaining to the thread Cotto would lose to De La Hoya at 154. De La Hoya was more skilled. Also Floyd fought the top 3 in every division he fought in so how is his resume ****? Why because he didn't fight Cotto and Marg? So one weight class makes a fighters whole resume when he has fought in 5? Ok then.

Paul also knocked out quintana in the rematch in 1 round

we all know Paul would stop Cotto...

Cotto is a highly overated HBO product....exciting fighter but completely overated. DLH would have moped the floor with him.

its all a matter of speculation at this point, we dont know how Oscar may have responded to Cottos body work.
And I like Cotto in there with Williams to be honest, sometimes well IMO alot of times being the shorter fighter is the advantage... especially when you got a guy like Paul who is not afraid to give up his height and fight inside....

Mayweather's lower-weight resume is impressive, but I agree that 140 and above, Cotto has at least an equally impressive resume, more or less. I find that both Pacquiao and Mayweather don't have big single wins that compare with a lot of their slightly older contemporaries. DLH, Mosley, Jones, and Hopkins for example weren't as consistently impressive with their bumps along the road, but they arguably have a better single or couple of trademark wins than ever appear on Pac & May's resume. If May's best win is De La Hoya, Mosley beat a much fresher one, and if it's Mosley himself, Cotto got their first. Same with Pac.

Much of Mayweather's legacy lies below 140...

So, no surprise that a fellow elite welter of the time would "hypothetically win in fantasy land matchups." If Mayweather swapped resume's with Cotto, he'd be 38-0, so what's the deal?

Well i do give Cotto props for being a very good fighter at Jw he hit harder at JW but i think he impoved the rest of his game when he went to WW... But sorry man, imo he gets an asterisk next to his win over Yuri Foreman. Lets keep it real Foreman dont even make my top 20 Junior middleweighs(JM is deep) . Lucky to win a title by facing a pitiful and shot Santos... I understand that its not Cottos fault that Foreman got hurt and was a paper champion.. But there are still some question marks as to if he is really the top dog at JM,.. Theres talk of him fighting Chavez JR if he wins and how he wants to grab a 4th tiltle,,at Mw but yet he ignores all shout outs from Martinez for the true title.. Paul Williams has proven way more at JM,,, You talk about Quintan/Williams but that was at WW and also we saw what Williams did in the rematch... Since your bringing up Quintana, what about their other common opponent MArgarito? Williams impressed with a hard fought decision,, Cotto got a bad beating..

If Chavez beats this light punching interim guy(hes a set up Arum knows this) and Cotto can beat Jr... WIll give him props as being a 4 time champ? When there are other greats who dont have that because they didnt take as easy a route?... If he wants to fight Chavez jr fine,, but it just seems like hes ignoring all serous challenges right now...

Cotto deserves to be in the HOF one day, but as far as all time ranking hes a clear notch below the ODLH,PACS,Trinidad,Mosley(yey him too),Mayweathers.

The Mosley that edged Oscar was light years better than the one who lost to Cotto.,way way faster and more active.. Its very obvious by just watching a tape of those fights. Very good win for Cotto and he beat a better Shane than Floyd did, but dont make it out to be more than what it is... I thik the ODLH that fought Mayweather was better than the Mosley who fought Cotto.,,

When talking about Manny not having signature wins like Roy,,do you mean at WW or his whole career?... Cause i am of the opinion that Roy beat a drained out of it Toney and a Hopkins that was a couple years away from his peak.
