He looks bad everytime he steps up in weight. A 140lb version of Collazo would have simply been outmuscled by Hatton, like every non-fictional current 140er will be. Torres would be outboxed - people tend to forget that Hatton can outbox strong but cumbersome fighters.
If hattons overrated whats mallinaggi and witter the best boxers in the world. So if Cotto gets found out against floyd is should be deemed overrated as well then?
Your missing my point. My point is that De La Hoya was elite at 154lbs. However, he could not carry that weight to 160lbs. Robinson was maybe the best ever at 160lbs, yet did not move up to 175lbs well. Hatton is/was great at 140lbs but did not move up to 147 well. Do you see my point? They all share the same thing. Yes, Robinson and DLH moved up through several divisions well, but ultimately they reached a division they could not move up to. Ignore them for a minute if you want, but what about Gomez? He was elite and probably P4P #1 at 122lbs, yet didn't look great when he added 4lbs. As insignificant 4lbs and 7lbs seem, they can have a big impact on a fighters abilities. Possibly, but I guess we'll never know. The fact is that Hatton faced two great fighters at 140lbs and stopped them. If you want to base your argument on pure speculation, fair enough. Tyson probably hasn't made 140lbs since he was about 10. He was well above that weight when he was 13, so it's completely different obviously. Cotto could still make 140lbs, but he'd be a shadow of the fighter he is at 147. He'd lose muscle mass and still be drained massively but it could definetly happen. If that was the case, Hatton would beat him.
So can this same logic be applied to an aged Castillo that had recently been through one of the most brutal battles in recent memory and looked like complete crap in his first fight at the higher weight or should we just accept that as a great win for Hatton?
I Think Losing The 7lbs Would Hurt Cotto. I Dont Know About What Others Here Think , But His Power Improved Incredibly Once He Stepped To Up 147. And If He Lacks That Power To Keep Ricky At Bay He's Done.
Well You can argue it both ways and people on here where suggesting that castillo had to much for hatton especially the bloke who wrote that crap article on the main website rodriguez is name was. So there were man on here who said hatton wouldn't win but suprise suprise he wins and now castillo was overrated and shot.
Dam Ricky Losses To The P4p King. In A Weight Class Above His Best And People Act Like He's A Bum Now. Shame On You Fans.
He always was a bum...where have you been? He's a tiny version of John Ruiz :deal Collazo clowned his ass for christsakesatsch
No you can not argue it both ways. Just because before the fight there was a few clueless fools that picked Castillo does not change the fact that it was a mismatch in terms of Castillo being way past it and being over his best weight. There was people that picked DLH over hopkins, there was people that picked Gatti over Floyd (lots of them on this board). In both of those cases and in the Castillo vs Hatton fight, the overwhelming majority knew hatton would win hence the huge spread in the betting odds.
