I will say what is usually said here about a boxer after a devastating loss.

Cotto is shot, he's a bum, he should retire.

Not that I believe it but I will just follow the trend.

so if you were cotto you would tolerate being pounded on for full 12 rounds until you wilt like a ****ing vegetable and lose your prime years rather than quit (or in technicality, quit because his corner threw the towel) because you're totally spent and does not have anymore gameplan to shrug off margo's atacks? why not try being on the ring yourself to see what you're really made off?

for me, cotto did the right thing.. if he chose to continue he'll be punished for sure

:good Honest, good observations. He was beat in a similar manner to the way he usually beat his opponents which is why it was such a humbling experience for him. His pride got the better of him. Margo knew he was down on the scorecards and that made him keep fighting, when Margo started getting the upper hand, Cotto lost his heart- That is what dictated the outcome of their fight- the heart that they each had.

Cotto is a ****ing quitter plain and simple! The way he ran to the locker room after the ref stopped the fight...it looked like he had some stamina left to me!!!

    Oh dear God.

You don't really believe that do you?
How you can down a fighter like Cotto is beyond me.

first of all i will like to say i'm a fan of the sport before i'm a fan of the fighter. The people on this site are unbelievable. this is not the rome Colosseum were people fight till the death for your entertainment. anybody who have something to say bad or negative about tony or cotto is an ass.instead of taking the fight for what it is and what is was and appreciating it your talking and making threads about cotto having little heart or tony on steriods lol .cotto a man that has been wobble and knock down and has found ways to win and people trying to question his heart.if i was cotto, if i was cotto! i would'nt have gave your fans the fight your wanted. i would have pull a pbf on your asses. ill fight, fights thats Unessciary to your so called fan, fight for my benefit only. why risk my health for your entertainment when underappreciated and u gonna call me fraud or any other name, anyway. i made millions F you. your want people to come out the sport like Ali, Riddick Bowe, hollyfeild, and Frazier. i seen frazier on espn fights one day i and promise i did not understand almost anything he said. mostly likely because he took to many pucnches. but hey forget about a mans life after boxing and his family. all we care about his being entertain.even if a fighter taking a serious beaten. i'm sure it's easier to live by spartan law no surrender no retreat looking on the outside

Cotto has more heart than anyone on this sight. I'd like to see how long some of the haters would last in against Margarito

In addition to bottling it, Cotto didn't do himself any favours by doing a fair impression of an Olympic 100m runner in reverse from round 3 onwards

I was going crazy that ****ing round!

Mosley had him in trouble, but wouldn't go into finishing mode. I think he could have had him!

At the time (and I only saw the fight once) I remember thinking Mosley must have cracked one of Cotto's ribs something fierce.

Incidentally, I still thought Shane did just enough to pull out the victory.
