I don't think I would either...BUT!!! Considering that this was exactly the same thing that we witness with Paul and Cotto a year or so back, I do see "why" he used the term "Bottle job". Cotto was smashing Paulie throughout their fight although Paulie was still in ther and competitive, cotto always had the upperhand yet Paul NEVER quit. Cotto on the other hand HAD THE UPPER HAND throughout the fight with Marg, although Marg continued to walk him down in workman like fashion....eventually i think that kind of took Cotto's spirit for the first time in his boxing career. The look on his face and body language in the ring showed a broken fighter who no longer "wanted" to continue. Now I'm not saying cotto quit.....bc this is a BRUTAL sport and death is always a concern. I'm just saying Paulie had the exact same situation and I feel worse in terms of damage sustained, when he took on Cotto and he faught with a broken orbital bone. That is some warrior type **** b/c even a fractured orbital bone is CRAZY PAINFUL! Cotto may have felt something serious that really concerned him or he could have really been hurt and he knew he just couldn't continue or take any additional risk with a guy like Marg. I don't fault him for doing that one bit and i think he faught a very valliant fight. But I do understand why some questioned Cotto in this one.
In the words of Teddy Atlas, Margarito took Cotto into DEEP WATER, WATERS HE HAD NEVER BEEN IN BEFORE! Margarito asked Cotto QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS HE NEVER HAD TO ANSWER BEFORE.
