WTF...he has all the right to complain...he could've been seriously injured, you ****ing idiot. If fact, he should keep complaining and take it to the next level...but keep in mind, he doesn't go out of his way to complain, the media are the ones asking him about his feeling on the whole situation...do you think he should lie and act like it doesn't bother him?
BigReg, Your argument that Cotto is out of line for complaining because others don't is based on the idea that he is the only one. Clearly, Cotto is not the only fighter that thinks Margarito may have had loaded gloves against them. This isn't a case of trying to save face and turn a legitmate defeat into an NC, because it is more than likely that Margarito DID load up in the past and it DID effect the results of fights even drammaticaly. The odds are largely in favor that the Mosley fight wasn't the first time. Also, why bring up Cotto's embrace of Margarito after the fight? That was a classy and sportsmanlike thing to do at a time when he thought he had been defeated, legitimately, by the better fighter that night.
Actually, Cotto stung Margarito two or three times in their fight. Until Margo's handwraps started hardening and made Miguel's assaults increasingly risky, of course. Miguel could have kept that discipline up. I don't want Miguel to fight him again - why does Margo deserve it?
hmm...lets see: Cotto acknowledges defeat (loaded gloves or not) doesnt risk his health any farther than it should've been, but lives to fight another day and keep making money. Margarito - has no confidence in his "abilities", resorts to cheating, gets caught - career over, no more money, nothing, done for. u tell me who came out better.
Cotto has absolutely no basis to suggest foul play in his fight with Margo. I dont like Margarito and loading his gloves against Mosley was utterly deplorable. But its that kind of thing that the commisions are supposed to regulate, and there is no evidence that his gloves were loaded against Cotto. Suspicions maybe, but thats it.
Yes he does. 1)It is proven that he did it vs Mosley and it is unlikely that this would be the first time that he had done it. 2)The nature of the damage that Cotto received vs Margarito suggests the possibility that his gloves were loaded in light of statement #1.
They tried to enter images of the wraps from the Cotto fight as evidence, suggesting that it had been done before. I'll see if I can get the hearing transcript.
dude dont even bother lol, i tried showing articles and proof that they tried using the photo of Margarito's handwraps in the Cotto fight but were unsuccessful. and besides, u can show these haters all the evidence you want, they'll just argue and keep trying to sound smart or making up bull**** excuses for Margarito. i showed em this quote from the article i posted but the haters cant answer my questions, no one has been able to...all the haters come back and say is, "Cotto has no right to complain" or "Cotto should just be quiet and stop talking ****"... quote: "Schaefer raised a point from the license revocation hearing in which supervising deputy attorney general Karen Chappelle unsuccessfully attempted to introduce into evidence a photo of This content is protected ."
There's no need to get offended just because I offered some contructive criticism of your boyfriend Cotto. Cotto has abosulutely no physical evidence that Margartio did anything wrong in their fight. The state athletic commission signed off on Margo's wraps and have stated that their was no wrongdoing in that fight. Cotto lost that fight, and there's nothing he can do about it. If he's truly convinced that Margo cheated in that fight, than the only way for him to rectify the situation would be to fight Margo again if Margo is able to reaquire his license. Complaining and throwing around accusations with no proof does not help his cause. I would say the same thing about any other fighter who faught Margo.
My argument is that it's pointless for him to complain given the lack of evidence he has. It just makes it look like he's making excuses for his in ring failure against Margo. You have no idea what the odds are due to the fact that you don't have enough information about the case. The only thing we do know is that he was found with an illegal substance in his wraps prior to the Mosley fight. We don't know how they got there, who put them there, or how long they've been used in his wraps. Why would I bring that up? That has very little to do with the point I'm making.
He was behind on two scorecards and tied on the the third scorecard entering the 11th round. Had he finished the 11th round, he would've been hopelessly behind on all 3 cards entering the 12th round. Cotto was taking a sustained amount of punishment from rounds 2 on. Meanwhile, his punches seemed to have little effect on Margo.
