Come on IB, none of those fights compare. Maybe a Mayweather fight but i doubt it.

Kiltschko pounded Povtekin, why did u even mention that??

Froch-GGG is a good fight but not a major fight.

Cotto and Canelo have big names but you're talking a middleweight champ that hasn't fought a healthy true middleweight vs. a challenger that has never fought a true middleweight period...

How are you judging how big a fight is? US PPV buys if it's held in the US? Total revenue?

Mexicans and Puerto Ricans love them some Canelo and Cotto, no matter how much Cotto sucks it doesn't seem to phase them. It would be huge...domestically that is. Although I'd much rather shell out my money on Froch Vs Golovkin.

if u want to Truly break it down that way you are right. But theres no other fight that can compare. it is the biggest fight in boxing that can be made. you couldnt name another one.

Yes we can say theres many other SIGNIFICANT fights that would mean more to us hardcore fans when you add unifications and things like that but Cotto-Canelo does 1.5 possibly 2 buys. thats how big the fight is.

As for not fighting an healthy MW....

Martinez was never gonna win. he was down 4 of his last 5 fights IB. as he ever fought anyone with Cotto's skill level at all??? NOPE!! Thats why I make the big Bucks IB, that was almost as easy as betting Mayweather over Pacquiao :good

Canelo never fought there but that has no signfiance. hes techinally has fought his last 3 fights at MW. Also we've had many mega fights in boxing when somebody moved up. u think ppl cared that Mosley was coming from Light weight to fight DLH??? NOPE!! A mega fight is a mega fight :good:good

Im juding it by that. PPv buys, not really reveune but just the buzz. Fight would sell out in less then 5 days. maybe in 1 day HOnstely, thats how big the fight is. and let alone that...

IT WILL BE A GREAT FIGHT!! Fans usually pay and gather for fights that they hope will be good. Cotto-Canelo would sell out quick and do over a mil buys easy because everybody knows it will be a war!!!

Cotto lost to Pacquiao, Mayweather, Trout and yes Margarito beat him fair and square. 4 losses.
Cotto lucked out because of preexisting injuries or injuries which occurred during the match against Martinez,Margarito2, Foreman, and Mayorga.
Cotto struggles with and I though had a draw against Mosley, Clottey beat him and was robbed of the very least a draw, he took out Judan with a nutshot, and struggled with Mailgnaggi far worse than he should have.

Making his best uncontroversial wins Bailey, Corley, Abdullaev, Torres, Quintana, Maussa and Pinto. Cotto is very average.FACT:deal

I guess all of those are measurements of "bigness" of a fight, but really Cotto vs. Canelo is only "big" where the casuals are concerned.

Hardcore fans may consider it a potentially competitive/entertaining match-up but I think we all realize that for a lineal middleweight title bout it stinks.
