Going for the path of least resistance. What happened to the days when Mexican fighter would challenge themselves against the top fighters?

Mares is the true Mexican warrior, Canelo is unproven.

That's true, Trout was very underrated. Team Canelo needs to do the right thing and fight Trout.

Cotto just had his second loss let him fight someone like Molina or Angulo, in another Mex vs PR showdown. But not Canelo he lost that opportunity.

Lose to that version of Cotto we just saw against Trout?

Man, I'm not one of these Canelo apologist but I highly doubt that Cotto can beat Canelo. Cotto just looked bad in the late rounds, and Trout is not a heavy banger.

Trout is hard to hit and Cotto couldn't push him back to the ropes and bull him up close.
Cotto had a hard time getting up close and he had a tough time once he got there vs Trout. Then he had no hope on the outside vs the quick, long and slick southpaw.

Against Canelo, Cotto can outbox him from the outside if he uses his footwork/angles and keeps putting his jab in Canelo's face. Canelo has fast hands, but his feet are slow. Cotto can beat him

Cotto will get his a$$ whooped by a much bigger body size canelo. Canelo size will bully cotto badly and canelo combination will be too much for cotto.

If the Cotto fight is a done deal, I believe Canelo will beat him. He's a strong kid with good pop in his punches, more so than Cotto's last opponent in Trout and he was smacked around pretty easily by him.

I'll be willing to say I'll stop posting to this site for 6 months if Cotto beats Canelo. How about you chump? We got a bet?

If I'm not mistaken, Canelo-Ortiz was agreed upon too.

That would be a big issue for Cotto, but Canelo doesn't really apply that type of pressure to bother Cotto like Margarito did. Canelo uses more of a patient, walk you down type pressure. I don't think this will give Cotto too many issues

naw I'm not that confident in my pick. When the idea of this matchup first came about I was unsure and it took some discussion and thinking to come up with a winner :yep
