There's nothing that Cotto can do that Mayweather hasn't seen ... Mayweather is a special talent and in this sport, guys like Floyd don't come around that often - he's a once in a generation talent. I think that Cotto is a very good fighter, but putting him up against a guy like Mayweather isn't asking for anything but for him to become another Mayweather victim. All comments welcome --
Those things were also said of Ali, Robinson, Leonard and Tyson. Many thought that the Frazier, Turpin, Duran and Holyfield weren't going to show Ali, Robinson,Leonard and Tyson anything new either. You can never be 100% sure.
I think that it will be very difficult for Cotto not only does he have to worry about getting his offense in, but he's also going to have to worry about defense. I think Cotto will fair well, but I'm not convinced that he'll do better than Ricky Hatton.
All those talents fell victim to out of ring distractions ... and so far Mayweather has been very discipline -- Add to that the fact that a couple of those guys over looked their opponents and got upset ...
You can't be serious. He will be far more competetive than Ricky Hatton, because he is simply a far better fighter. Especially at 147... atsch
You are correct. For Cotto to win PBF will need to have slipped or lost some of his gifts. In my view today Cotto loses as in 2009. His chances start to improve from about mid 2010.
