The ****?! When the hell did I ever say that?! Nahh, I would never say such a thing. I think Cotto has a decent chance at pulling it off, a much better chance than anyone around right now, I just don't think he would. Myself I think mayweather beats anyone from 154 and under, and I'm a Floyd hater so that tells you how much I think of his skills. Like I said though, I would NEVER say that no one could beat Mayweather in the history of boxing. That's simply ridiculous! Floyd is good, but he ain't unbeatable. Personally I think a prime Oscar and a prime Mosley would beat this current version of Floyd at 147.
No, lol, I was talking about Fitsgerald! (shoulda been more clear) The thumbs up was to you, and basically everything else was flr Fits, my bad mate :good
And this is how all of the Floyd Mayweather fans would justify their man not stepping up to the plate against Cotto. He would have won anyway, right? Of course.
Nice, not a bad analysis at all. I was thinking that you were one of these Floyd huggers that has ZERO knowledge of the sport and basically just comes on here to talk ****, but obviously I've been proven wrong. Thing is I don't agre that Cotto gets stopped in this one. I have too much respect for both men's talents to think that either one will be stopped if they were to ever meet. I'm thinking more along the lines of a competitive 8 rounds to 4 scorecard for Mayweather in a mostly technical fight with decent action. Although I'm not sure how much Floyd's movement or right hand leads are gonna play a factor here. Mayweather hasn't been moving much since he moved up to 147 and Cotto is prety great at cutting off the ring and staying close to his opponents... and I think Miguel's jab will be effective enough so that he won't be countered with too many of those right hands. Some will connect, but not many. I think Floyd will actually do much better off the ropes than some might think against Cotto. With all that slickness on D that Floyd presents I find it hard to think that even the great Cotto could land much in there and with Miguel's gaps in defense, I think Floyd boy will be right there with him with his fast handed counters. Anyway, I hope the fight happens soon because this is probably the biggest fight that can be made in all the sport.
LMFAO! The first thing I thought when I saw your screen name was "**** that's the perfect screen name for Fitz"....... or "SelfDestruction" maybe "SelfCheck" or "SomeoneScrapMeOffFloydsSac" and "MeMyselfAndFloyd"
Ehhh....don't worry, I have personal issues geared towards the 12yr old that started the thread, sorry you got caught up in the cross fire.
I disagree with alot of your predictions. Cotto is very fast. Fast enough to catch PBF with clean punches When has Cotto gotten tired in the last rounds?? You mentioned the right hand will hit Cotto quite a bit. Mosleys hit Cotto as much as possible and still never hurt him. PBF does not have Mosleys power. In the Gomez fight i saw an improved defense also. Yes as you said PBF has seen it all. Mostly from over the hill, undersized, mentally unstable, and slow ass fighters. Not anyone on Cottos level. for gods sake his greatest victory was a razor thin decision against an old DLH!!! One which Cotto would destroy as the trend is. Cotto has KOd everyone that he and PBF share in common.
Oh yeah, could a man fly down with a flying device strapped onto his back and then fly down into the ring and interrupt a heavyweight championship fight?!.... Oh wait..... :yep ****ing crazy ass sport we follow. And I love it!
I have alot of respect for Cotto as well, but he hasn't been in too many situations where he's been dominated ... at times he made mistakes and paid for it, but never once was he in with a guy that took full advantage of him, during that situation. At times he's been able to weather the storm against lesser opposition, but he's never been in the ring with a guy like FLoyd. Cotto would be able to land ... their in a championship fight ... any fight your in, unless its a one hitter quitter you land ... you have to expect to get hit. The thing is ... its very hard to hit Floyd flush -- I haven't seen Cotto cut off the ring as of late ... since he fought Quintana ... I think there's a misconception of Cotto's style ... he's an aggressive fighter, but more so a boxer/puncher than a pressure fighter. I don't think he can take away Floyd Mayweather's comfort in the ring ... and I don't think he could put in a position where Floyd can't use any part of the ring to his advantage.
