Cotto's been really through the mill emotionally, Depressed after Margarito and hitting the bottle the guy just had an outpouring of relief like the weight of the world had just been lifted from his shoulders. I did think they had stopped the fight though as you don't normally see that kind of thing between rounds.
I am, he did well to come back from his defeat and I don't know how I'd react in his situation but doesn't make it right in my opinion, just felt he let himself down a little.
Tito Trinidad hopped onto the 2nd rope every time he knocked somebody down and did a pose regardless of the round and regardless of whether the fighter got up. I remember Jay Nady having to tell Tito that Vargas got up after the 1st KD in the 12th. It was more of Cotto breathing a huge sigh of relief.
Yeah, that was a bit out of order. I thought Jennings' corner had pulled him out when he started celebrating.
Agreed in total. I think it was similar to a hitter belting one out of the park after being traded to a new team and not feeling very comfortable. The rest comes easy after that.
I don't think you should look at this through your microscope. In context of what Cotto has gone through lately.....it was more of an emotional response....not one of disrespect to the other fighter. As far as class goes...Cotto and his whole family are classy and humble people. Give the man a break will you?
Hey, I have now, I've hardly gone to town on him and called him a scumbag, I just wanted to pull him up on it. Just because he's had a hard time doesn't mean he can get away with anything.
Seriously, Trinidad was comically hyped up after every KD, acting like he was Jeff Hardy jumping on the ropes and yelling at the crowd. People seemed to adore him for it, though. Cotto was more relieved than anything. I'd never seen him with that expression (what's it called? happiness?) before.
i dont think he did in on purpose. i think they thought they had stopped the fight then realized that it had not been stopped so they went back to their corner. i could be wrong. thats what i thought as it happened
Yes I do actually. I just was not convinced that there was need for this big sigh of relief, I feel maybe he could've, and should've, held it in. His opponent was way out of his depth but giving his all.
