the fight was close, and one of the judges score the fight 116-111...,ridiculous...

 

Clottey won that fight clear.

I gave cotto 4 rounds at best.

What guy who boxes/runs and gets outlanded ever wins a decision?

Cotto won because the crowd was filled with puerto ricans who cheered every punch that hit clotteys gloves and cotto is a bigger money guy that clottey.

Clottey landed the more effective shots and more shots period.

If you had cotto winning this fight you should really study up on how to score a fight. This fight was more lopsided than berto/collazo.

I had it 8 rounds to 4 clottey and take away a point from clottey for the knockdown.

 

116-111 clottey woulda been fine for me

I was saying that Clottey did win at least one of those rounds if not both. I wasn't 100% sure cause I was drinking while watching so I didn't wanna say the wrong ****.

Absolutely, have no clue what that judge was thinking, there were some close rounds but i didnt see that many going miguel's way. Definitely looking foreward to a rematch, although i hope a mosley rematch can be made first.

Agreed. My scorecard was more similar to Manny's than Letterman's.

 

I am am suprised by how many people thought Cotto really won!

My only suggestion is watch the fight with the volume off and actually LOOK where the punches are landing

the cut changed the fight, it meant that cotto couldn't wait and box and he had to show his warrior spirit because the fight could have been stopped at any time. i think in a way the cut helped because when they both had there guards up early on clottey's uppercut was getting and scoring well. In the 4th cotto did well, the blood was a problem but he fought and impressed me in that round. in the 6th clottey wanted to show that cotto couldn't hurt him so he stood against the ropes, he gave away a round but for the next four rounds cotto did not know what to do because he couldn't hurt clottey. going into the 11th cotto had to win both rounds, i thought he didn't have a chance but the jab worked really well and prevented clottey from throwing the straight right because he was being countered. clottey's workrate was very poor in the last two rounds and cost him the fight but cotto showed his heart tonight and he deserves to be champion.

 

It was a good fight,i thought Clottey had done enough but it was a close one.Clottey should definatley get a rematch.

 

I had it 114 - 113 Clottey, same as the 2nd judge I believe. The 116-111 score was just beyond me, I think that judge must have been influenced by the crowd
