where one of the fighters threw away the win? What are the most famous examples of someone LOSING rather than the other guy winning?

To start I'm thinking DLH-Trinidad. Tito didn't really do anything perticularly well that fight and really didn't win it so much as DLH tossed the last 3 rounds. (BTW: I still scored it for DLH)

Another would be Holyfield-Moorer. Holyfield just didn't do enough and let the fight slip away in the later rounds.

    What are some other examples?

ODLH running away the championship rounds against Trinidad. Margarito giving away the 12th round to Williams. It's actually quite a common flaw among fighters to not fight the last round or two believing they had won just because fatigue sets in.

I'm not advocating bringing back 15 rounders but it doesn't seem like that happened before. I mean Holmes-Norton fought like rabid dogs in the 15th round of their fight, same with Shavers fighting the championship rounds even when he thought he had the fight.

people should realize they're called the championship rounds for a reason.

Meldrick Taylor Vs. Julio Cesar Chavez

Taylor was/is to brave for his own good.
He had too much heart to allow himself to run from Chavez.
he wanted to stand there and exchange w/him.
    And he did.

But it cost him the fight.

Great example! He said before the fight that he was a philly fighter through and through and seemed determined to prove his toughness. He didn't need to in the 12th: the first 11 showed his stuff.
