It's very possible that this one becomes FOTY candidate.

    Cotto UD.

Cotto will win this. I've put this into my "styles make fights" department of my brain and Cotto comes out as the winner again and again.

I do think that Clottey will have Cotto back-pedalling near the end though. Similar to the Mosley fight.

    Cotto UD.

Like he beat Corrales and Baldomir?

I can't see your point....Clottey is a very dominating fighter with KO power and very dangereous as well.
Why are you only going with a split decision for Clottey?
Don't you think you are selling him short?

Just don't put any money down on Clottey, because he will find himself belly up with Cotto glaring down at him.

I got Cotto taking this quite comfortably on points. I see it as a case of mangaing distance for Cotto, which he has good enough footwork to do. Clottey may well pressure Cotto by walking him down, but unless he's throwing 100 plus punches per round like Margo does, I can't see his offense troubling Cotto. I just can't see Clottey's countering and pot shots troubling Cotto. If he manges to pin Cotto down and throw hooks and uppercuts (a couple of variations on this combo could trouble cotto) in bunches, then he may wear Cotto down. The downside of doing this is that he will be leaving himself open for Cotto to counter with combinations which he does as well as anyone in the game.

I either see Cotto boxing smart, at distance and utilising his jab to rack up the points to an easy ud, without taking (or giving) much damage. If he gets brave and engages on the inside, I see it being a bloodbath, but Clotteys inability to throw a sufficient volume of punches, and Cotto landing clean combinations will again, lead to a wide decision in Cotto's favour.

Even if he decides to engage I'll pick Cotto to easily get the better out of him, Clottey doesn't throw enough and is very predictable. Not saying Cotto will take advantage of Clottey's predictable punches but he will be able to handle them as Clottey isn't active enough in there to trouble him. Margarito is the most predictable fighter ever and was able to land slow ass predictable punches in combinations, Clottey doesn't throw enough and if you lack activity against Cotto you lose in my opinion.

Agreed 100%. I think that the Margarito fight shown us that Cotto can be vunerable to pressure, but there are different kinds of pressure. Margo pressured Cotto with sheer punch output - Clottey has never indicated that he can sustain an attack anything like what Marg can dish out. Clottey has said that he will pressure Cotto, but walking Cotto down simply isn't enough - his only chance as far as i can see is to overwhelm Cotto with punches, and he simply doesn't have the ability to do that.

Clottey could win this one. He has all that is needed to beat Cotto, especially in the late rounds.
