The fight is getting replayed on HBO right now. I'll do a "live" scorecard.

When watching the fight originally, I had it 114-113 Cotto.

Round 1: Round is up for grabs going into final 15 seconds of round...Clottey looks like he's gonna take the round, 5 seconds left, BOOM...He goes down. A 3 point swing IMO. ROUND COTTO

    10-8 Cotto

Round 2: Close round. Cotto more active despite Clottey landing a couple of good shots. ROUND COTTO

    20-17 Cotto

Round 3: Cotto very active but almost all shots getting blocked. Clottey's best round of fight by far and was doing good work on Cotto. Round ends with the Clottey's illegal bull**** headbutt. ROUND CLOTTEY

    29-27 Cotto

Round 4: Pace of fight cranks up A LOT. Clottey unrelenting in going for Cotto's cut. Cotto goes to war and comes forward in the fight consistently (for the first time). Close action packed round. ROUND COTTO

    39-36 Cotto

Round 5: Clottey landing on Cotto's face with brutal accuracy but he's not nearly as active as he should be. Clottey falls and/or Cotto throws him down as mercante is distracted. Best round of fight so far by Clottey easily. ROUND CLOTTEY

    48-46 Cotto

Round 6: "Tremendous round for Cotto". Although Clottey did good countering work, particularly towards the end of the round, it was for nil. Cotto had him trapped in a corner for over a minute and delivered MANY headsnapping shots. ROUND COTTO

    58-55 Cotto

Round 7: "Shades of Margarito". Clottey furiously stalking Cotto, ala Margarito. And this was the round in which the tide turned in the Margo fight as well...De ja vu! Although Cotto landed some good shots, Clottey's aggressiveness won him the round fairly clearly. ROUND CLOTTEY

    67-65 Cotto

Round 8: Clottey going to work on Cotto. Headsnapping shots galore. Cotto's cut looks unbearable and cotto tries to "stanch the bleeding". "This is looking hauntingly like the Margarito affair at this moment". ROUND CLOTTEY

    76-75 Cotto

Round 9: Clottey actively stalking but pace slows down considerably. ROUND CLOTTEY

    85-85

Round 10: Cotto more active/accurate despite consistently on his heels and backing up throughout the round. ROUND COTTO

    95-94 Cotto

Round 11: Cotto more active/accurate. Clottey steals round w/ flurry of activity in final 15 seconds. ROUND CLOTTEY

    104-104

Round 12: Cotto active. Clottey not active enough. ROUND COTTO

    Final: 114-113 Cotto

    1. After rounds 7/8, I would think Cotto would be a 4-1 underdog in live betting and probably even odds that he gets knocked out. The fact that he was able to last 4 more rounds despite the fight looking eerily reminiscent of the margarito affair is stunning and a true testament to his stamina, heart, and grit. The lack of activity by Clottey post round 8 despite the advantage he seemed to have shows Clottey's limitations (going for the kill/stamina/consistent activity)

    2. I wouldn't be surprised if as many as 50% of ppl scoring this fight had the fight tied going into the 12th and final round. Because of this, it's shocking/odd how inactive Clottey was during the final round. If Clottey wins this round clearly, I think he has a LEGITIMATE case for getting robbed.

I just watched it also and I scored it 114-113 Clottey.

    Round 1 10-8 Cotto
    Round 2 10-9 Clottey
    Round 3 10-9 Clottey
    Round 4 10-9 Cotto
    Round 5 10-9 Clottey
    Round 6 10-9 Cotto
    Round 7 10-9 Clottey
    Round 8 10-9 Clottey
    Round 9 10-9 Clottey
    Round 10 10-9 Clottey
    Round 11 10-9 Cotto
    Round 12 10-9 Cotto

I think Clottey landed the more effective punches and that **** Cotto pulled in the 12th should have got him a point taken away.I picked Cotto to win by UD but Clottey took this one on my card.:good

And if Cotto fights Pac......Cotto get's his ass whooped.:deal

I thought Cotto stole a couple rounds plus that 1st rnd. knockdown helped him with the split decision.

Going into the 12th, I knew that whoever won that round would win the fight. It was extremely close, and the 12th round always has the most sway in these types of fights.

As it turned out, Cotto was going to win the fight as long as he stayed on his feet in the 12th round. However, if Clottey decisively lost the 12th round, there would much cause for controversy IMO...

Right now 70% of people think Cotto won the fight. However, if Cotto loses that round (considering 80% of those people have it 114-113 cotto), I would say that around 85% of ppl would score it a clottey winner. And the public's opinion, particularly w/ the decline of the importance of belts and **** is the most important thing bar none
