..he didn't , lets not forget the cut and the very strong possibllity of going to the score card, if he decided he didn;t want to continue in the 10th he would have win the fight on points also...by the score of the judges....

By the way AP scored the fight 116=111 Cotto...

IMO, At first he was defo looking for a way out by pawing at it.
(AKA ref take a look at this ****en cut!!!!)
^^don't blame him, That cut was like an extra eye

That said, He get's man point's no doubt for fighting on.

I don't understand what is so hard for some of the General Forum to understand over this. Cotto had a terrible cut over his eye, the blood was clearly seeping into his eye and impairing his vision. He just fought and beat a fighter of Clottey's calibre with one eye for the majority of the fight. There is more than one dimension to Cotto's game, and I think he'll go far in the fight game if he keeps putting on shows like that. He had no business winning that fight with one eye.

He was pawing at it, because blood was actually getting in his eye. That goes under common sense.

Every time the doctor asked if he could see, Cotto said "Yes, I'm fine". A fighter looking for a way out would have done a Judah and said, "I can't see".

    Cotto is the man. :good

Miguel fought for his people last night and his fans. He knew he had to fight to give the fans what they wanted he wasn't scared of losing he stepped up and showed heart of a true warrior.

We all Cotto-Cheato would have taken the easy way out if he could but he wasnt smart enough to figure out it would be a technical decision instead of a cuts stoppage

Dude he didn't even considered it..so what the hell...dude..the fact is that he could walk away and win the fight anyway...I can tell you never been isnide the ring...because if you have..you would have said..wow that was gutzy...there's nothing more scaring inside the ring that lose your ability to see from where the puncheas are coming....the only thinki more scarring than that..is fighting with a broken jaw....

Cotto is warrior a lesser man would've taken the easy way out.ive seen fighters with much smaller cuts basically quiting(guerrero a couple of fights ago did it in front of his hometown fans).

Nope couldn't be further from the truth bro.. Been around the ring my whole life.

When a fighter paws at his cut as obvious as Cotto was in this fight, including shaking his entire head.. he was defo asking for the ref to check it out.
Blood was in his eye, But i have seen others w/simalr cuts who don't make it as obvious.

Of course he was not gonna quit, EXSP after all the bull**** people were talking post Margarito fight.
