He easily won his fight last night and I imagined him having the common sense to call it quits. If he couldn't outbox Canelo before he isn't going to do so now that he tires much quicker. This decision could lead to another boxer retiring from the sport by flying through the ropes. Of course Roach looked very enthusiastic about the whole idea. Win or lose it would be a good pay day. Especially now that Mexican fans seem to have taken a liking to Cotto as evidenced by their cheers for him last night.

Yeah, he'll only fight the winner of that fight if a certain someone wins and even that's a stretch.

Kamegai has a he'll of a chin. And I think last night showed Miguel hasn't really lost a step since his fight with Canelo , and that was a very competitive fight. I think he has a good shot in the rematch and a shot against GGG who's showing his age, as well.

What surprised me was that out of the big 3 of the last generation of great fighters, big stars that Cotto has the most fight left in him. I'd be happy to see him fight the winner, and call it a day, win, lose or draw.

Cotto was throwing like 70 or more punches a round, that was damn impressive. I was worried thought he looked a little soft, worried about his stamina. Wasn't sure if he'd be able to keep his pace all night to keep Kamegai off him, but he did, and without any noticeable fatigue..

Plus if he plays the 'ask my trainer' card and then ends up fighting, say, Heiland in his farewell he can just shrug and say "Well technically I never said anything about me fighting the GGG/Canelo winner" and not be lying. All the more if he and Freddie have a falling out between now and then, but not necessary.

I also feel cotto inside is hoping canelo wins and if canelo wins I see no reason why cotto will not take the big money fight and a farewell fight against canelo so its not out of the cards I feel.

He wasn't afraid of Margarito. So why should he be morbidly afraid Golovkin?
