What? Come on, does anyone really need to explain the difference here? He was scared to face Canelo, Martinez and Geale at the full Middleweight limit, he's not aching to get in the ring with a guy who's got at least 10 times as much skill as Margarito, that hits probably 10 times as hard that's the same height and on fight night will most likely outweigh him by 20 pounds, he couldn't keep Kamegai off of him last night, Golovkin is literally Cotto's NIGHTMARE opponent. This is not hyperbole, Cotto will be badly injured in this match if it happens, and as much as I hate Cotto, even I fear for his heath here. It would be irresponsible for Roach to encourage such a massacre.

Why didn't he skull **** his last opponent Daniel Jacobs who had been easily KOD by Dmitry Pirog in five?

He was walking Golovkin down actually. Some even say he lost that fight on points.

Cotto said, " I will fight once more in December and I will let Freddie tell you who I want to fight next'

Then Freddie chimed in that Cotto wants winner of Canelo GGG fight.

Doesn't appear that Cotto is looking for an out to me!

No, he wasn't walking Golovkin down, Golovkin was walking him down, or they would trade occasionally, at no point did Jacobs become the predator stalking his prey in there. The answer is simple, because Jacobs has physically matured a lot since the Pirog fight, he was a full fledged SMW in there with GGG, if not a LHW, Jacobs has almost a 90 KO ratio as well, which has become more apparent in recent years, causing GGG to be more apprehensive, that wasn't really the case when Pirog faced him, he didn't have the reputation of this ferocious KO artist against non bums, so Pirog was more reckless, although stylistically Pirog would have probably not only always been issue for Jacobs, but GGG as well. Pirog was a beast. Also, Jacobs fought the perfect fight, was hyper defensive, and switched stances, the match he fought against Pirog vs. the match he fought against GGG, the difference was night and day. By the way, Jacobs removes Cotto head from his body as well, so don't use that as a measuring stick with Cotto.

exactly Jacobs came forward against pirog a lot more then he did against Golovkin he was fighting of the backfoot despite having a clear size advantage

with pirog he fought crazy at times not caring about his power with golovkin he has seen how powerful he is and was ready from the opening bell and him just surviving was a victory for him

Exactly. Initially, I was worried about Kamegai eventually wearing down and stopping an old and tired, much smaller, Cotto. About round 7 I quit worrying, though Kamegai continued to shed glory upon his proud, death-seeking Samurai ancestors by literally running toward a brutal ass beating through the entire 12 rounds. Amazing set of nuts on that dude and a credit to Japan.

To this day I fail to understand the poopy diapers Cotto generates amongst his detractors. He's fought a murderers row of opponents and appears to be willing to wrap up his career by going out on his shield if that's what it comes to. That so many Mexican fans have adopted him at this late date and despite the Margarito controversy speaks volumes about his macho. What the hell else can a mf ask?

Cotta's fight against Canelo was one of the easiest moments of his career....he made huge money and took almost no punishment. He's praying to God that Canelo stops GGG but takes plenty of damage in the process.

A damaged Canelo coming off a high might be susceptible to Cotto taking out a decision.

If not, Cotto can make a pretty penny by pounding out Kell brook at MSG right before Christmas and call it a day.

How about Cotto/Khan? It be a good payday fight with minimum punishment and a guranteeed KO for Cotto.

plus knowing Khan, he woukd take that fight in a heartbeat. the dude is a ***** for money even if it's means getting knocked out cold.

Man, I'm no Khan fan, but not sure I'd wish that upon him. Is he really, actually broke?
