Cotto defeats Margarito...

Care to explain why you think this isn't a possibility?

Williams outboxed Margarito with his inaccuracy, imagine what Cotto will do with his power and timing, Margarito's chin isn't as amazing as people make out either, he's been hurt to the body and rocked by Santos and Clottey.

 

So ironic this post...

 

Santos landed on Margarito's temple, and Clottey caught Margarito falling in with his full forward momentum, and bodyweight, with a monster counter hookercut and Margarito took the punch ridicuously well considering. When you compare that to Cotto's history of getting wobbled by the likes of pea shooters like Paulie Malignaggi there isn't much comparison.

 

Did Cotto get wobbled by Paulie?

So what if Santos caught him on the temple, or Clottey with his full forward momentum, what's to stop Cotto doing this and knocking him the **** out considering he's a bigger punches than Clottey?

 

Margo is not the same fighter clottey,santos,williams,This is a new Margo IF he started fast like he does NOW all of those guy's would been KO if those fight's margo started very slow he almost KO them what am saying this is a new MARGO so dont be looking back you should be looking at the new Margo.:yep

 

Williams didn't outbox Margarito. He had a few clear rounds early on (which isn't abnormal for a Margarito opponent) but faded down the stretch. He ate some big punches from Margarito throughout. The fight was like 115-113. Hardly being outboxed. More that Williams was simply more active and absorbed a tremendous amount of punishment to win. Most at ringside scored for Margarito because in the presence those punches were reportedly very loud.

Daniel Santos is a 170lb southpaw with a good background in boxing. He landed a flush left on the temple and rocked Margarito but Margarito recovered in seconds. That is the mark of a great chin.

 

It's not as simple as just having to be a bigger puncher then Clottey to get a KO. Cotto will have to endure punishment himself to get in. WHile it's possible, it's also possible he gets clocked himself.

The gist here is that sure Santos landed some good punches. Clottey did too and so did lots of other guys BUT they also all ate some significant punches themselves. They ended up fighting Margarito's fight.

Most picking Margarito suspect that Cotto will not hold up under that fire. Margarito is much bigger than Corley and Torres. And he is very busy. If Cotto gets hurt here he is likely a goner.

 

Cotto brings better overall boxing skills to this fight but Margarito has his own advantages such as size, workrate, stamina, chin. This will most likely be Cotto's toughest fight, especially in the later rounds. This fight can go either way, it's tough to predict.

 

The idea that Cotto is a bigger puncher than Clottey is purely subjective. Cotto is an accumulation puncher and the vast majority of his stoppages have come from repeated punishment to the torso of his opponents. There is no possible way that Cotto will rock Margarito with a single punch. Cotto doesn't have that kind of power. He might be able to drop Margarito to a knee and make him quit on his stool from hitting him in the back 200 times though. :good

He's really only been in trouble when weight drained at 140 anyway.

Fact is Margarito's been hurt before, especially to the body and Cotto is the best body puncher in the business, he's quicker, probably the more intelligent fighter, the better boxer, probably more powerful aswell, and more accurate. He's a step above Margo in every department bar admittedly the chin department and stamina.

 

Weight drained what a bunch of an excause fact is he almost got ko by smaller guy's with power and pressure fighter's.If he got rock by little guy's Torres,Chop,Zab,ext NOW with Margo pressure and throws from all angle's stamin 3 or 2 time's bigger and better then those little guy's Margo will KO or TKO Cotto less than 10 :hi:

 

This again? Cotto wasn't in trouble in the 1st, 2nd, and 7th rounds of the Judah fight? Cotto wasn't in trouble in the the 10th round of the Mosley fight when "Cotto (was) staggering!" - according to Jim Lampley, and the ref stopped the action to wipe up the wet spot?
