Cotto does not need to validate himself against GGG who has mostly fought bums

Funny how GGG fans accuse Cotto of running from him but who has the hyped up suspect ped user with loaded gloves faced?

Lets look at who Cotto has faced

Manny, Floyd, Margarito (with loaded gloves) Mosley, Martinez, Judah, Clottey, Malignaggi, Torres E.T.C


GGG has mostly faced bums can anyone seriously tell me GGG has faced 10% of the pedigree of boxer Cotto has faced.

 

Cotto needs to fight GGG or leave middleweight period

How many of those fighers you listed were middleweights and were NOT over 38? NONE.

Paulie...Both Hatton and Khan STOPPED him? Why couldn't Cotto.

Half the guys you listed Cotto lost to, GGG is undefeated in MIDDLEWEIGHT fights.

GGG wasn't schooled by Trout.

its amazing the amount of disrespect cotto gets here.....the guy is a really good fighter who has fought some top level comp for many years now...

their favorite fighters do the same thing....go up to a division and take a belt(although their favorite does it for vacant titles against non deserving comp...whereas cotto actually took out the champ) and then vanish without fighting the top guy there....and they dont say a word

GGG fights a bunch of average comp and they talk about him like hes the goat

im not gonna disagree with your point...

but...

i equate cotto going to 160 and getting a belt to manny getting a 154 belt...although cotto actually beat the man in the division and not for a vacant belt.....if he doesnt want to fight a true middle in ggg i wouldnt blame him...especially at this stage in his career

i dont hate GGG...hes great to watch....but he needs to do something...drastic...take a paycut against a big name...move up or down...something...because this just isnt cutting it...im not that interested.....i realize its not all his fault...he cant snap his fingers and force someone to fight him....but he needs to do something....the way hes going about this other fighters would be getting slaughtered for it....the guy is what 32? 33? doesnt have a defining win or fight...and we may not even get one in 2015...

i agree that ggg is a young 32....and yes martinez and hopkins....but hopkins was already validated as a fighter and martinez was kind of a late comer....ggg is already star status but with nothing of note to show for it....

 

i agree. Golovkin could easily be another Hopkins in the making. probably takes even better care of himself.

 

I don't see Canelo bringing his power up any higher than 154 and I think you would need some pop to get some breathing room with GGG being a decent fighter won't do it look at MM. Would love to see the fights with Lee and Lemieux. I don't see either fighter ducking him either.

 

That's great just vacate the title again and he can continue to do what he is doing but he doesn't he should defend aging the best middle weight ..
