Maybe he also knows if he gets a Pac fight at a fair weight he got a chance of (little but still) winning unlike if he fights FMJ.
Pac knows that too and will ofc insist on Cotto draining himself.

 

Cotto should stay away from Pacquiao.

He already admitted that he would not fight to the death or maybe severe mutilation in the ring.

Anyone else think Cotto and Arum might be trying to hype up a fight that's widely thought of as uninteresting? Maybe his intention is to get Pac fans riled up so that they'll be motivated to spend their money to see him take a beating (again) for talking ****. Me thinks Cotto is pulling a Mayweather move.

Nothing wrong with Cotto, a legit champion and draw, setting a floor on the weight he will accept for a fight. My guess is that Cotto feels slighted by both Marg and Pac. He has avenged the Marg loss and really would prefer to do the same with Pac.

It is total nonsense that Pac will face certain guys at weight or in Marg's case above weight, but other guys he forces to cut. Cutting is probably the single worse thing for a guy who uses technical Boxing skills.

Either way, I just wish Cotto much success and money to take care of his family.

Cotto is making it a point to inform people about Pac's hesitation to fight him at his own preferred conditions. This amidst Floyd apparently, according to reports, willing to fight Cotto at Cotto's current weight (154). If in fact this is true, then why not take the fight against Floyd and forget about Pac for the time being? The opportunity represents the same level of reward in terms of stage and accomplishment - and it would be at Cotto's preferred weight condition.
