Its truly unfortunate and in many ways I wouldn't mind seeing Cotto/Canelo step up to the plate and fight GGG just based off the entertainment value but I'm not the one in the ring and risk/reward in my belief isn't worth it for an old vet on his way out the door soon. Canelo on the other hand may benefit from the fight but he himself started at Jr WW and would likely be severely beaten by GGG as well….I can't see the significance of the fight getting past the overall consensus of these two guys being simply to small to contend with GGG….yet his biggest supports sh*t all over the same guys that would elevate him to the status they believe he has already earned.

I despised Cotto when he scheduled the fight with Geale @157 but now I come to think about it, It's understandable. He's too small and too old for GGG and another beating like he suffered vs Margarito could end vey badly for his health. Not to mention GGG is bigger, stronger and more skilled than Margo. His naysayers have been making jokes about it but I do prefer GGG fight Tureano Johnson for the WBC belt rather than Cotto.

I disagree with Canelo being too small though. He turned pro as a kid so It's normal he was much thinner back then. Golovkin was fighting at welterweight when he was around 18 too.

Check celebrity news. Millions in their accounts don't make them happy.

What will Cotto do if such miracle happened ? Who would he fight next ? Bradley ? I doubt Mayweather will be interested.

He's got a great chance. I'm surprised Cotto is the underdog in this fight...he should be the favorite.

Listen, Cotto has weaknesses, but not against guys like Canelo. He has trouble with powerful pressure fighters and slick fighters, but Canelo is neither. Canelo is a plodding boxer with fast hands, but slow feet.

Cotto moves better around the ring and his single shot power at 155 is slightly better. He's going to force Canelo to lead and Canelo is not good at leading. Cotto is going to counter Canelo and catch him coming in all night. I favor Cotto in this fight.

Won't matter that much. It didn't stop Bradley from knocking out a fat plodding Rios. Cotto has the power to stop Canelo. Cotto's body shots are solid and can break Canelo down.

Here's what I know going into this fight.

    - Canelo is bigger
    - Cotto is a better boxer
    - Cotto is a better mover
    - Cotto has better stamina

Canelo may get the better of Cotto in the first few rounds, but Cotto has the advantage in the mid-late rounds.

Cotto has been through all the BS before. It won't distract him. It's Canelo who should be worried...he STILL have to make weight. I don't like the BS Cotto is pulling against GGG, but it's irrelevant to the fight this Saturday.

I keep a clear unbiased mind and I see Cotto as the better boxer. His footwork and stamina will allow him to keep his distance and win rounds until the 2nd half of the fight when Cotto can break Canelo down.

The head is only as willing as the body. When Canelo starts to gas, and gets sloppy with his defense, what's he going to do?

SMH at the amount of posters who fooled themselves into thinking Cotto was the better boxer.
