fair enough, thats cottos right. however pac's p4p title will be on line whether he likes it or not.

so without that belt, pac should not in any way take this fight.

this fight from pac's perspective is purely for history. another belt in another weight. no sense to risk his p4p title for nothing.

**** cotto if not for the belt.

thats exactly what he said "if they want a catch weight 145 lbs would be the least, i would not be another oscar de la hoya weight drain my health is first..and if they don't want we go after other ww there is not a problem" but now you have pac sayin if he fights at 145 lbs. he wants incentive in which he is now getting. so cotto is just playin the same game and get his incentive too

ur last statement is probably at it.

with belt on the line, cotto will pay the sanctioning fee.

I understand what your saying and somewhat agree. I am not sure what the others who oppose the belt being on the line think, but as for myself, I understand that they are still fighting within the limit; the difference is that the division allows them to come in ANYWHERE between 141 and 147. One fighter can be 141, and the other 147. With a catchweight, this is no longer the case. The limit (in this case) is changed from 141-147 to 141-145. Since they are altering the max limit set by the division, then I do not think the division belt should be on the line. Just fight, but leave the belt out of it.

    I love this argument.

'No body cares about the titles because we have **** on them so many times so we are going to **** on them agian. After all whats more ****.'

If Cotto loses this fight, can he honestly claim he's still welterweight champion? Everyone will know who really deserves the belt.

He should own up and put the title on the line. No reason not to make this the biggest fight it can be.

I agree that if he loses his title does not mean much... but should Pac win it when he has no intention of fighting as a WW? He can't force all WW's to come down to 145 to fight for the WW title.

U think Pac is after to all the WW to defend? He is megafights mode.

No need to chase, legacy secured:smoke

EXACTLY - So the title being on the line should not matter.

just a bargaining tool so that cotto would get more incentives or share in the purse split. they know that pac is gunning for his 7th title so why not make the belt as a bargaining chip?

for the WBO, i'm sure they would want this fight to be sanctioned so that they could get a piece of the pacman fee, even at 145.

I agree with this. Love Pac and love Cotto but this is a catch weight, not a fight at 147. So the title shouldn't be on the line IF....and that is IF Cotto doesn't want it to be. Unless the fight is at 147 then the WW title should not be on the line unless Cotto wants to negotiate for a bigger purse or whatever. It's his title so he should have the say if they fight at a catch weight.

141 UP TO 147 is welterweight!

wheteher title is on the line or not is not our call.

    but IT SHOULD BE PROPER!

I get it, my point is that we are going to end up with a WW champ who will not fight anybody who weighs 147 and cannot come down. That's BS.
