Cotto & evangelista united but still havent spoken about the margarito loss

I think that white is the default colour on a black background for good reasons

 

there's no doubt that the feud between them two didn't help preperation for the fight with margarito. boxing is like most sports you evolve and continue to strive to improve miguel and evangelista know that. i think they will go over it when the times right and look at how he could of won and how he can improve when working off backfoot etc. miguels future is in front of him and he's a good humble guy and i believe in him and know he's got the ability to bounce back.

 

how did it work out in the mosely fight....coto will beat AM if they still have a rematch after mosely slaps margo around

His Uncle got Cotto to where he's at today which at the very top of the light welter and now welter division so im glad to hear they are on good terms.

i mean.....it's good to hear i guess, but i was hoping he was gonna fire that clown and get himself a proper trainer, i dont if you're family or not if a trainer does train how fighter, how is he a trainer? i dont wanna make any excuses for him losing but, ****....how can that not be in the back of peoples minds, watching Contdown to Cotto-Margarito and this guys training himself

he needs to get himself a super trainer like one of the Mayweather bros. or Roach, or ****......i'd settle for Enzo Calzaghe, anyone as long as his does his job

What works for one may not work for the other! I just hope Cotto comes back strong, confident. I'm hoping he beats Margarito in a rematch. He has a good shot because he is quite clearly the better boxer of the two.

Margarito is like a hurricane though!

If Cotto were to avenge the loss, given the manner in which he lost the first bout, would that make him a solid candidate for 2009 Fighter of the year?

 

i'd certainly say so.....but that alone wouldn't make him a shoe in, but if he went on to be Clottey after Margarito, i'd say he'd defiantly be the FOTY

 

They better be talking about Margarito! because if they are gonna fight him again, they need to come up with a game-plan to beat him.

 

I think Cotto will be improved and we'll see if that can help him in a Margarito rematch. No telling how Margarito will turn out after his own fight. I get the feeling Cotto will box just as well but won't be able to absorb the punishment needed to beat Margarito.

 

They had a gameplan and it seemed to be working early, they used movement and speed. What failed them is Cotto's stamina and his decisions to the go to the ropes and kneel down to welcome Margarito's obvious uppercuts with full force. I still can't understand what were they thinking during training, they seemed to totally ignore Margarito's uppercuts, Cotto seemed unprepared for them sometimes.

 

Obviously if they have started making adjustments then there has been a
degree of discussion.
According to his uncle they are not too overly concerned regarding the rematch.
There was also a lot of distractions leading up to the fight....parading around with showgirls, tension with his uncle and he said in the article
in El Nuevo Dia that he felt saturated from his succession of fights leading
up to the Margie fight.

They are private people and their issues have been resolved....just because they aren't airing them out to the public .....don't read too much
into that.
Cotto and his uncle are very confident they will prevail in the rematch.

 

Hopefully they take note of that next time around! Thats one of Margo's most lethal punches, your rite! seems like they didnt even prepare for that. They probably didnt prepare for his steel chin either.
