I wouldn't have thought so, he was struggling to make the weight, and lets be honest, he only lost one fight - and what a fight. This could make him a better fighter!

Can he even physically do it? Or at least without having huge side affects, i don't really think he can. He didn't look human at the Malignaggi weighin, he looks like a different person to the one that fought at welterweight.

No! Its not even feasible for him to do so....The guy just doesnt fancy starvation...Now Paul Williams is a different story, he could probably drop to LW

My friend was saying this before the Margarito fight and has been saying it more and more ever since.

He doesn't think guys like Cotto and Judah should be in the same division as guys like Margarito, Williams and Clottey.

He thinks Cotto could get back down to lww and become undisputed champion by beating the likes of Hatton, Malignaggi, Holt and Bradley.

I am undecided on the topic so I wanted to ask fans of Cotto if they think he could now get back down to 140 or not.

    Cotto can't make 140.

I wish he could though as Margarito and Williams are just a bit too big for him.

Cotto looked half dead a the weigh in for his last fight at 140 vs Malignaggi and put in quite a listless performance against someone he should have steamrolled. Then, next fight, against Quintana at 147 he performed brilliantly and brutalised the guy for 5 rounds. I think this demonstrates that Cotto's days at 140 are over.

He was struggling to make 140. He fought Zab, Mosley, & Margarito all at Welterweight and gave great performances.

Financially & health wise, why would anyone tell Cotto to go back Jr WW? :huh
