Cotto fighting at 154 is a terrible idea. He should stay at 147 or retire.

Cotto's renewed contract expires at Top Rank relatively soon. In about a year or so. Bob Arum has been matching Cotto mean-tough the last series of fights. He's seemed intent on getting every last nickel of Cotto's brand value back in blood. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Trampler is about 60-40+ that Foreman can take this.

Yuri is not a very talented Light Middleweight, and his skill set would have got him borderline top 10 in the 147lbs division. What he does have is size and he's shown that he knows how to use it. Cotto is a boxer that likes a challenge, and if he's not got long left, he may as well leave it all out there. It's not like he's getting fed to the lions by taking on Yuri Foreman.

    He beats Foreman...

But the buck stops there. Dz, Sergio, and PW would drag him through the mud.

The rabbi is going to take the win. Arum is just trying to cash out on Cotto now.

a ring worn but still good Cotto vs an inactive but still young Kirkland would be a great fight.

:rofl Please tell me you are joking. Kirkland would make the beating Margaritoe gave Cotto look like a school yard girl fight. Cotto would seriously be hurt. I'm talking Emile Griffith/Benny Paret type hurt.

Yeah.. I gotta agree with my QB ^^^^ on this one.

If Kirk is in any type of shape, he will beat the breaks off Cotto.

if cotto were hatton, then id say he is over rated, had major beat downs in his last few fights, was too methodicle to trouble any top man on his day, and plain simple.. not good enought to worrie top teir fighters.. TO ME? never good enough EVER to be mentioned as a great when there are at least two in and around his weight class that have shown him to be, a very good, and also gutsy opponent. but come the **** on guys? i think he should hang em, then slang em...

Are you completely out of your ****ing mind? Kirkland would destroy Cotto. Have you seen both of these guys? Watch much boxing? Kirkland would shatter Cotto into a million pieces. A first rounder wouldn't surprise me in the least. Cotto wouldn't be able to hurt Kirkland if Julio couldn't and he couldn't keep his ass off him either. Then again, Arum would have no problem making that fight...

I think Cotto beats all of the JMW except Martinez, Williams. Those fights are toss ups.

I think you give Cotto a little too much credit.

Sergio is too fast for him at that weight, and he has enough pop to catch him good. Plus, Sergio is about 5'11 and rangy. He can keep the early rounds at an optimal distance. And neither of them have the stamina to make it much of a fight after the 9th.

And Paul would make it rain leather, for 40 days and 40 nights. Period.

Other than those two and Dz, Cotto could whip anyone else in that division.

You, of all people, think Cotto could whip anyone else at JMW? Angulo? Julio? Even Spinks? These are not pushovers.

Let's see how his body would react to this weight. He'll be able to eat more and might gain more energy on training at 154. Who knows, with proper conditioning and hard work, we'll see a much stronger Cotto. Wish him good luck.

    I think it's a pretty bad move.
Everybody who loses against somebody ends up moving up..
I think cotto might be a bit small to move up to 154.
